Happy B Corp Month! 🥳 We're proud to be a certified B Corp since 2010. B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials. In order to achieve certification, a company must: 👉🏼 Demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing B Lab's risk review. 👉🏼 Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve benefit corporation status if available in their jurisdiction. 👉🏼 Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.

It's been a wild 3 years. We've changed a lot as a business from when we first certified as a B Corp but the B Impact Assessment process has been a great anchor and tool for transparency and accountability (despite the tedious process, I guess that's part of the point). We share more on our blog.
3 years a B Corp, re-certified 🎉 We are happy to announce the exact same score as we re-certified - 134.1 (to the decimal point!). That means no score improvement, but to be honest we went into recertification expecting we’d drop a chunk of points because, over the last 3 years, we’d grown, changed and possibly dropped the ball on things. We wrote a reflection for our blog as part of our 3-year recertification. It talks about what’s changed in these three years, our honest thoughts on the tough B Impact Assessment process and admin involved (ugh 😩) and we share a template we made to help others. https://lnkd.in/gjWdWHva Impact improvement is a constant work in progress and the B Corp certification is a great framework that helps to keep us accountable. We know our impact is small in the grand scheme of things, but it’s important to us that we do our bit to help create a fairer, more sustainable and more equitable society in whatever way we can. It's great to see more and more companies (including many of my clients) becoming B Corp certified. This includes SME's and eCommerce/retail giants such as The White Company who announced it yesterday - there's over 2000 certified B Corps in the UK right now. So what is B Corp certification and why is it so important? "Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability." "Businesses that become B Corps have seen great results: committed and motivated employees, increased customer loyalty, higher levels of innovation, and market leadership." Celebrate the most responsible corporations with us! March is the month of B Corp. More than 8,000 companies globally are certified B Corp and leading the way in using their business as a force for good We’re incredibly proud to be part of the B Team. We not only hold ourselves accountable to workers, customers and the planet, but we also demonstrate transparency by making our data publicly available for anyone to read. The B Corp certification is holistic, which means it covers the complete impact of our entire business instead of focusing on a single social or environmental issue. To be a certified B Corp requires recertification by B Lab every three years, which makes it paramount to continue to improve our impact. Want to know what it means to be a B Corp? There are so many reasons I love working at M Creative, but perhaps biggest is our values. If you don't know much about B-Corp certified companies, check it out (https://lnkd.in/eZfmuUbt) and see how we're one of many using the power of business for good. #bcorp #designforgood #businessforgood
M Creative is a certified B Corporation, a designation granted by B Lab to organizations that believe in the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. Certification requires a serious commitment to higher standards of transparency, accountability, and performance to all stakeholders, including employees, clients, and vendor partners. It also means that we are diligent in operating our firm in a sustainable way. In 2015, M Creative became the first Certified B Corporation in the Triad, and is one of only six certified companies in the Triad today. https://lnkd.in/epG-PUe4

At Brightly, getting B Corp certified was a huge achievement. They really don’t make it easy! But just because we reached our goal, doesn’t mean we stop there. With each recertification, we're focused on improvements (in fact, we went from 80.9 after our initial certification, to recertifying with 106.8!) We want to move with the world, adapt to meet new needs, and keep our place in a community of B corps moving business forward. Since our original certification, we’ve put new process in place around measurement and reporting of key metrics that will continue to support our recertification applications. This process also helps us understand where there’s still work to be done and what areas of our business we need to focus on further with improvements. Being B Corp is a journey, not a destination! If you'd like to learn more about the improvements we've made so far, check out our recent post on our recertification.
