The Global Week for Action on NCDs (15 to 22 October) aims to unite the NCD (Non-Communicable Disease) movement each year under a specific theme, concentrating our combined efforts with the aim of reducing the NCD burden globally and increasing health and equality. World Leprosy Day 28 January and World NTD Day 30 January 2024 campaigns are fast approaching. The theme for year 2024 is :Unite,Act,Eliminate" NTDs! The campaign brings together community leaders, policy makers, global health experts, partners( donors,NGOs,CBO,Youth organizations and people affected by NTDs) to enhance awareness and accelerating the process of control/elimination/eradication of 21 neglected tropical diseases (including skin related NTDs) through integration by 2030 (WHO NTD roadmap 2021-2030)! Let us Unite! Let us Act !! and eliminate!!! Let us continue to advocate and communicate on NTDs/skin related NTDs to mobilize funding and commitment!

Fact: #NCDs (Non-Communicable Diseases) are the most underfunded global health issue compared to the billions of people impacted. Investing in NCDs offers the world’s greatest potential to save and improve lives by 2030. This holds true for Europe as well. In 2020, healthcare systems in EU countries spent only 3% of their total health budgets on preventive care. Yet, every €1 invested in effective NCD prevention is estimated to generate €7 in returns through reduced healthcare costs and increased productivity. It’s time to #ActOnNCDs. The 77th World Health Assembly (WHA77) will take place in Geneva, on 27 May-1 June 2024 with a special focus on Non-Communicable Diseases.
