Reflecting on an eye-opening experience at Asia Pacific Climate Week 2023! Despite the limited focus on buildings, I saw several threads of connection between buildings, cooling, health, and regenerative economies throughout the week. As we all know, we need faster, bolder, and more just climate action now. Climate reporting is currently in the midst of a paradigm shift, with companies around the world facing an influx of new and evolving disclosure requirements that will change the way many produce climate data, including GHG emissions and targets. Over the next few years more companies than ever before will have to report under mandatory requirements. Some will report emissions for the first time - a selection of those requirements are summarized in the graphic below. This shift signals the opportunity for a new era of more streamlined reporting of climate data, bringing with it greater transparency that, in turn, can help us build a more informed picture of where we stand on our collective climate transition journey.  We are building for the future. Insightful overview of the projected global reporting architecture by the Net-Zero Data Public Utility (NZDPU). #Legislation drives climate action to measure and report on a companies impact in local, regional and national contexts. The UK's Climate Change Committee noted a significant delivery gap to the UK’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) of reducing emissions by 68% by 2030. The agreements made at COP28 require a sharper domestic response and time is now short for the gap to be bridged (Source: Climate Change Committee).
