🇨🇦 🇩🇪 "Canada and Germany bolster hydrogen alliance with first-of-its-kind bilateral program" Building on the commitment to implement a transatlantic hydrogen corridor, the governments of Canada and Germany have signed a memorandum of understanding to speed up commercial-scale hydrogen trade between the two countries in a first-of-its-kind bilateral program. The MoU, signed on March 18 by Jonathan Wilkinson, Canadian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and Robert Habeck, German Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Action, seeks to establish the bilateral program to support hydrogen trade and secure early access for clean hydrogen producers in the German market. Furthermore, the agreement aims to bolster the two countries’ efforts to fight climate change and enhance energy security. Under the MoU, Canada and Germany will..... 👉 Article: https://lnkd.in/d-fpZFSK 🎯 TA RawMaterials: https://lnkd.in/d_Np2KpZ (co-funded by Krixos & the EU) #hydrogen #germany #canada #renewables #hydrogenenergy #evs #eu #cleanhydrogen #climatechange #energysecurity #hydrogenfuelcell #greenammonia #greenenergy

The brutal reality is that in the short and mid-term, Europe is uncompetitive on the world market. Their production costs are too high and there is little prospect for that to change in the next decade or two. Europe's reliability and innovation(especially Germanies) always made sure that despite higher costs the export machine never failed. But Europe has broken its innovation machine - willfully so - on the back of virtue signaling. Some smaller countries will be able to reform their economies around tourism or some other small oddity in their geographical position buzz the bigger economies are looking at a lot of misery. No secret sauce will change that. Not fast enough. https://lnkd.in/dj-cQpDV

Different colors of hydrogen. Is green hydrogen really efficient? Is it efficient to use hydrogen in the supply chain: methanol / ammonia / liquid hydrogen? New technology will follow the S-curve pattern, so we don't know what the future holds but one thing is for sure: Japan is betting big on hydrogen! #colorfulhydrogen #Japanhydrogenstrategy #hydrogen #no1element #TitanGreenTech

Hong Kong plans to use clean hydrogen in transportation and power applications under a new strategy that aims to bridge the gap between Beijing and the rest of the world. The island administration plans to create a supportive environment for hydrogen energy by improving laws, setting standards and aligning with the global hydrogen market, all while seemingly deepening its reliance on China. A former British colony, Hong Kong was handed back to China in 1997 under a “one country, two systems” agreement; seeing Hong Kong hold a degree of autonomy from China. However, over the years, local and global concerns have grown about Beijing eroding Hong Kong’s autonomy, leading to large-scale protests in 2014 and 2019. In 2020, China imposed a national security law in Hong Kong, which critics said further undermined the island’s autonomy. The new hydrogen strategy claims that one country, two systems will give Hong Kong access to mainland China’s “huge” market, positioning it as “the bridge linking the mainland to the rest of the world.” https://lnkd.in/eNJpXBFw

It is imperative for the public to understand how hydrogen fuel is produced, rather than led by the nose by those unethical corporations that “beautify” their products as being eco-friendly From the 3 examples (Gray, Blue and Green hydrogen), I would argue that either is fine as long as the harmful emission to the environment is minimal, and we are able to get clean energy

During his recent visit to South Korea, German Vice-Chancellor and Minister of the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz, Robert Habeck met with Minister Anh if the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. In their meeting, both ministers mutually underlined the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Korean-German Energy Partnership for promoting sustainable development and accelerating the energy transition. Both countries stand to benefit through cooperation on the energy transition. This recognition has been made clear with the establishment of a formal #EnergyPartnership between the two nations, which has existed since 2019. Collaboration between South Korea and Germany supports renewable energy expansion through: 🧠 Formal knowledge exchange; 📑 Policy alignment; 🚢 Trade partnerships; and 🌱 Climate diplomacy. adelphi supports the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action with the implementation of the Energy Partnership. Germany and Japan are recognised in this IRENA report for forging new hydrogen trade relations, with Germany emerging as the clear leader in this direction from 2021 to 2023. The Germany hydrogen import strategy was published in July 2024 and includes specific measures aimed at encouraging imports from European countries in the short term and from non-European countries in the medium and long terms. Germany has established numerous hydrogen memorandums of understanding with countries and organisations. Germany actively funds hydrogen research and facilitates the development of hydrogen strategies and is supporting the H2Global mechanism for international hydrogen auctions. https://lnkd.in/ggeZHHNZ
