“It’s almost like people are trying to find an alternative solution to just preaching the gospel and making disciples. Leaders come in overwhelmed by the burden of the context. The problems of the context, in some cases, seem to outweigh their hope or their trust in the simple things that Jesus called us to do: to preach the gospel and make disciples.” Lorenzo Elizondo Leaders like Lorenzo Elizondo understand that focusing on the Gospel and making disciples can feel overwhelming in the face of complex problems. September 30 is a significant day for reflection and action as we advance toward Truth and Reconciliation. We must remember the tragic legacy of residential schools, which forcibly removed thousands of Indigenous children from their families, communities, and cultures—many never returning home. The trauma inflicted by these institutions continues to affect Indigenous communities today. It’s crucial to acknowledge this painful history and support the healing journey for survivors and their families. Allies, we must create space for Indigenous voices, listen with intention, and uplift their stories. It’s essential that Indigenous peoples are not left to shoulder the weight of a nation’s responsibility alone. True reconciliation can only occur when we confront and address the truths of our past. #TruthAndReconciliation #EveryChildMatters #OrangeShirtDay #RememberTheChildren

United for a Purpose... "Only a church united can bring healing and hope to nation divided." - Doug Stringer - The task is greater than we can accomplish alone. - Together we can have a greater Kingdom impact. I believe that our nation's 4.6 million first responders, and their families, is the greatest UNSEEN mission field in our country today. The problems we see across the country: 1️⃣ Isolation - among all who have a heart to reach them for Christ. 2️⃣ Discouragement – from little to no support, fruit, or examples to follow. 3️⃣ Lack of Awareness – for the first responder culture and the need to reach them for Christ, for what other ministries, chaplains, and churches are doing well, and for how first responders and their families can live out their faith. We believe a national networking conference and this alliance, has the opportunity to do what has never been done before, and begin to address these gaps within the body of Christ. September 20-21, 2024 in Chattanooga, TN. Don't miss this opportunity. Learn more and register online today: https://lnkd.in/eFGF58Xu #firstresponder #realhope #missionfirstalliance

Did you know … In the 5 counties of Vanderburgh (IN), Posey (IN), Gibson (IN), Warrick (IN), and Henderson (KY) : There are approximately 360,000 people living in these 5 counties. With one church for approximately every 500 people. Yet … Taking the national average of 10% of the national population being true followers of Jesus (the result of 4 independent surveys including one from the Barna group) … And doubling that to 20% since these counties are in the Bible belt - that leaves 280,000+ people who are not Believers. Meaning about 6 people die each day in these 5 counties who are not Believers and will spend forever suffering. And, somewhere between 40-60% of the people sitting in church on Sunday are not Believers. Now, image, what would be the affect on these 5 counties if there was a well equipped army of Disciple Makers daily engaging with the community, loving and caring for people, intentionally starting spiritual conversations, sharing their story of encountering Jesus, sharing God’s story, and making disciples. What would be the impact on these 5 counties? Think about it. Now apply this to the area where you live.
