Unfortunately, I fear that the reality will be more focused on cost cutting than universal access and the resource imbalances between wealthy and low-income districts will only be exacerbated by this transition, which will require substantial investment. Let’s try to do better! The best solution would be to eliminate the funding model based on property tax for public schools. In the meantime, eliminating voucher programs would get us a lot closer…

Safe and accessible transportation is a fundamental right for all students, including those with disabilities. However, many face significant barriers that can hinder their ability to attend school regularly and comfortably. Addressing these challenges is essential for ensuring equal educational opportunities. Here are some ways schools and communities can help: - Implement accessible transportation options: Ensure buses and other transport services are equipped to accommodate students with disabilities. - Train staff on assisting disabled students: Provide comprehensive training for drivers and aides to support and understand the needs of these students. - Create clear communication channels for parents: Establish reliable methods for parents to communicate transportation needs and concerns. - Regularly maintain and inspect transportation vehicles: Conduct frequent checks to guarantee that vehicles are safe and fully operational. By focusing on these strategies, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all students. Let's work together to propose and implement actionable solutions to these critical issues! #accessibletransportation #disabilityservices #accessibilitymatters #accessibility #safetypractices
