The term ‘nurse-led clinic’ is frequently used within health care, however, is often loosely based or ill-defined, and our current understating is limited regarding their benefit. Through this study we offer a more robust and contemporary definition. Nurse-led clinics provide holistic and commensurate care that can support general practitioners within the primary health care setting, however, their success requires medical and community stakeholder champions. https://lnkd.in/gNcUtYrA

Telemedicine is important in the future of healthcare for many reasons, including: Increased access to care Telemedicine can help bridge geographical barriers and provide care to underserved populations, including those in rural areas and remote regions. It can also help patients who might miss appointments due to transportation or childcare constraints. Improved patient experience Telemedicine can help patients receive the right care at the right time. It can also help specialty practitioners see patients in their home environment, which can give them an advantage. Reduced healthcare disparities Telemedicine can help improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations

NPR's Marketplace profiles Terlingua (TX) EMS' efforts at improving community health in a rural community. The reporter also highlights the growing challenges for rural EMS agencies in an increasingly challenging economic and staffing environment. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐪𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: "In some rural parts of the U.S., where hospitals and doctors’ offices are in short supply, people often turn to calling 911 just for basic medical care. Experts say that’s a problem for patients and hospitals, but a growing model called community paramedicine aims to address it by having paramedics regularly check in on people before a health issue turns into an emergency." "A 2023 survey from a national paramedics trade group (NAEMT) counted more than 150 of these kinds of community paramedicine programs across the country. It’s a growing health care model championed by EMS agencies and hospitals at a time when some advocates say rural health care is facing a crisis." "“The economic model for EMS-based community paramedicine is very challenging.” said Matt Zavadsky, a longtime emergency medicine professional in Texas who now works for a national consulting firm for EMS operations (PWW|AG)." “So we’ve got EMTs and paramedics all over the country who are doing the right thing by trying to work with patients to prevent unnecessary emergency department visits, but yet they’re not eligible for reimbursement,” he said." Head Public Health Department | Founder AQEEQ Foundation | Public Health Expert | Social Health Activist | ; Mission of Empowering Human to Serve Society
Patient satisfaction through quality healthcare is more social component than medical responsibility thats why usually it is being ignored by the medical and allied health staff. One of the main reason is missing of social studies in the curriculum of medical and allied health courses. Social and moral support sometimes help patients to go happily towards death. But unsatisfaction towards medication, healthcare or hospital staff make patients dead even before the time of death. Developed countries are much conscious in considering social domains of patients beside medical treatment but we are far behind. We must be on it and take care of patients socially and morally. You may share more suggestions how to improve patient's satisfaction from hospital and healthcare facilities. #hospitalityindustry #patientexperience #patientcare #qualityservice #drshahbazzakki #socialwork

Parliamentary Secretary to the Attorney General of NSW - State Member for Prospect - Barrister-at-Law
Health Minister Ryan Park's recent opinion piece published in the Daily Telegraph shares important insight into Healthdirect Australia, a website and phone service that provides 24/7 helplines to all Australians. Between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023, a record of more than three million patients presented to Emergency Departments in NSW hospitals. In 2023 alone, 315,000 people contacted #Healthdirect, with 175,000 people seeking immediate medical care avoided visiting an ED. "I know the all-too-common anxiety of a parent who is uncertain whether they can or should manage their child’s condition at home, or if they should present to an ED. Working with Healthdirect allows our healthcare professionals to connect patients safely and more efficiently to the care they need." The Minns Government inherited a health system that is straining under the pressure of record patient presentations to EDs. We’re committed to reducing pressure on our public hospitals. When you're not sure whether you should see a local GP, manage the condition at home, or go to an emergency department, you can call Healthdirect on 1800 022 222. Registered nurses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide advice.
