#WildlifeWeekend: Global Tiger Day 2024🐯🐅 Roar of The Tiger !! 🐯🐅🔥 #Global Tiger Day is celebrated every year on July 29th as a way to raise awareness about this magnificent but endangered big cat The Roar of a Tiger signifies: Power, Confidence, Courage, Assertiveness As a #WildlifePhotographer the most thrilling moment can be listening & capturing the “Roar of the Tiger”. It can be an exciting, spine chilling, ear splitting and at times known to have caused temporary paralysis. A roar of the Tiger can mean it’s ready for a battle or it is a long-range communication signalling for a mate, territorial marking or communicating with other Tigers. The Tiger Roar is so deep throated it can be heard from almost miles away. Interestingly Tigers can also produce low-pitched infrasonic sounds that are below the human hearing range. So, humans can't hear the sound, but can feel it. Tigers are territorial & solitary. They effectively use the roar in a way for them to assert their presence and mark their territory. The loud and distinctive roar acts as an auditory boundary, signalling to other tigers that the home range is already claimed. This helps prevent unnecessary conflicts and establishes a clear delineation of space. Tigers are generally solitary creatures, but they use sounds to communicate with other tigers in the area. Roaring is a social behavior that conveys information about the tiger's presence, intentions, and emotional state. It plays a vital part in the complex social dynamics of these big cats It’s important to know that #Tigers are on the list of #Endagenred species, there are only about 7000 Tigers on Earth and 50% of them are in 🇮🇳#India. As per the last census India has about 3,000+ Tigers in 55 Tiger Reserves. How To Find Snow Leopard In Pakistan | #nationalgeographic #wwf #worldwildlifefoundation Snow leopards in Pakistan primarily inhabit the mountainous regions of the north. They are found in areas such as: 1- Gilgit-Baltistan: This region in the northern part of Pakistan is known for its rugged terrain and high mountains, including the Karakoram and Himalayas, where snow leopards roam. 2- District: Located in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Chitral is another area where snow leopards are known to exist. 3- Azad Jammu and Kashmir: Some reports suggest that snow leopards have also been spotted in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the higher elevations. These regions provide the snow leopards with suitable habitats characterized by steep cliffs, rocky outcrops, and sparse vegetation, which are essential for their survival. Protecting these habitats is crucial for ensuring the continued existence of snow leopards in Pakistan. Leopards can carry a kill upto #two times it's weight and store it on a tree top. #Leopards weigh between 40 to 70 kgs and the bigger ones can carry upto 120 kgs of it's prey using it's powerful Jaw muscles, Claws and Strong leg muscles. India has nearly 14,000 leopards but are on the #endangered list of Big Cats. They can adapt well to environment in the forests as well as around areas of human habitats. They can usually be spotted in semi-Urban areas of Bengaluru, Mumbai, Mysore and many such cities in India. They need to be protected. 🌊 Guardians of the Gentle Giants: Our Tale of Whale Shark Conservation🦈 In the deep, azure waters off the coast of Kerala, roams a majestic giant—the whale shark. These gentle, awe-inspiring creatures, despite their grandeur, face grave threats due to human activities like fishing. At VST, we've come to recognize that these oceanic guardians are more than just magnificent beings; they are crucial to the health of our marine ecosystems. That's why our responsibility doesn't stop at the confines of our industry. It extends to the preservation of these gentle giants and the oceans they call home. Recognizing the importance of these ocean superheroes, We recently partnered with the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) to support them in rescuing trapped whale sharks.We recently celebrated a success: freeing a majestic whale shark from entangling nets—a small victory in our mission to safeguard these magnificent beings. Even though there are few of these gentle giants left, each rescue is significant. Their presence influences the balance of marine life, making every single one worth saving. This rescue isn't just about untangling a majestic sea dweller; it's about protecting a fragment of nature's beauty. *Coexistence with leopards* 6 leopards being killed in road accidents in Delhi in the last decade. Leopards have muscular and flexible bodies, powerful legs with retractable claws that allow them to grip firmly onto the bark of trees. Their long and flexible tails also play a crucial role in maintaining balance when they climb or move between branches. These felines use their agility for various reasons, including hunting and protecting their prey from other predators. By climbing trees, they can discreetly observe their surroundings, keeping an eye on potential prey or threats. Additionally, trees provide a refuge from lions and hyenas, which are not as adept at climbing. The way a leopard climbs is elegant and fluid; it seems to glide up the trunk, with movements that are precise and measured.
