Great deep dive into the world of third party certifications by Lexy Lebsack for Glossy. What’s clear is that as sensitive skin concerns grow, certifications are offering peace of mind and reassurance. Brands such as Saie and Tower 28 Beauty, Inc. are utilising third-party seals to ensure transparency and trust. With the National Eczema Association seal leading the way, other certifications like National Psoriasis Foundation and National Rosacea Society have followed suit, alongside the Environmental Working Group verified seal and Hormone University’s endocrine disruptor-free seal, they are all empowering consumers to be able to make more informed choices. However, what does this mean for brands? We’ve walked with many founders down this path and know that certification isn’t always easy or affordable. It usually involves rigorous testing and often costly changes to packaging. Despite this, we’re definitely seeing a shift in the number of brands going through the intensive certification process so they can be truly transparent and prove their commitment to authenticity and safety to their customers. #beautyindustry #certification
