Delivery is very important for a brand but... So is communication with your partners/clients. No person/company is perfect, there will be rough times, but it isn't neccesery to quit the partnership. - Be transparent, don't hide - Try to solve it together - Communicate more often, show that you care about the problem/challenge that you are facing. This is one of the most important things to build your brand. Transparency, open communication and helping out in times of need. P.S. Agencies: Take it from me, or better yet take it directly from one of your peers that has been killing it on the new biz front. Lots of gems here on when, why, and how to pitch. 💡When? Infrequently. 💡Why? The path is built for success. 💡How? All in. No half in. But first, you gotta be crystal clear on your agency’s mission and brand and put that out in the world, so the right clients know and find you (which can help you avoid a competitive pitch in the first place).

Does Mischief @ No Fixed Address pitch? Yes. We pitch. But not often. We focus more on building our agency brand and letting the work do the talking, so people really understand who we are and what we do best. That helps create a funnel in which we can better matchmake with the right partners, and build with them for the longterm. Side note: Pitching isn’t the problem, to be honest. What is a problem is the number of pitches accompanied by a laundry list of deliverables which far outweigh the budget and a whacky process. #marketing #creativity #pitching

By this logic - it’s not the end of new our business teams, but rather, a completely new use of our time and creativity. Imagine the resources that we could save if we used our time coming up with fun ways to get our name and our work out there. It would free up time for the accounts, and it would alleviate a lot of the direct pressure on individual pitches to succeed. Instead of asking “What is x client really asking for in this brief” we could be asking “What fun video could we produce that would attract a client like x”
