Do you know about our massive septic-to-sewer conversion work in Australia’s Mornington Peninsula? With 114 miles / 183.5 kilometers of difficult, sandy terrain and undulating plains, the Mornington Peninsula coastline experiences a huge increase in the population from summer tourism. Strained or failing septic tanks caused leaching, odors, and contamination of groundwater. Gravity sewer and pressure sewer systems were considered for this project. After evaluating both approaches, pressure sewers were deemed both the most feasible and cost-effective solution, saving ~$120 million on the project compared to gravity. A finalist in Australia’s 2014 Premier Sustainability Awards, the program cited the project for its, “integration of a novel approach to design, new technology and trenchless drilling (which) has allowed the corporation to apply a modern solution to address age-old issues." Want to know more about this groundbreaking project and how our technology can help you? Read both parts from Pumps & Systems Media linked on our website! https://lnkd.in/gmivqkn

"The fully welded InfraShield® Joint System is a simple concept, and it works...In addition to cost savings, eliminating gasketed couplings in geohazard applications significantly reduces risk," shares NWP Sr. Director of Engineering, Richard Mielke, P.E., in a recent sit-down with Municipal Water Leader Magazine. Engineered to withstand earthquakes, landslides, and liquefaction events, InfraShield's most common application is a little more predicable: areas with expected differential settlement. Read the full interview in the September issue for more insights on how our patent-pending technology is revolutionizing geohazard-resistant pipeline design and performance: https://lnkd.in/eakUUMEK #geohazard #civilengineering #pipelinedesign

Strategic Business Mentor Specializing in Market Disruption, Client Engagement & Market Development to Drive Sales Growth.
Uncovering Solutions: Restoring Access to Vital Infrastructure At Infrastructure Intelligence Services Inc., we understand that effective storm and wastewater management hinges on the accessibility and functionality of our systems. Recently, we were called to a site where an essential manhole was buried under 24 inches of gravel, rendering it completely unusable. Our dedicated team sprang into action, expertly locating and exposing the manhole. With our powerful flusher unit, we cleared the sewers, followed by a thorough CCTV inspection to verify cleanliness, and identify any operational issues. This proactive approach not only restored access but also ensured that our client has the necessary insights to maintain their infrastructure effectively. As part of our commitment to transparency and quality, we provided a comprehensive NASSCO, Inc. report detailing our findings and recommendations. At I2S, we don’t just clear obstructions; we enhance the integrity and efficiency of vital assets. Let’s keep our infrastructure functional and resilient! #StormwaterManagement #WastewaterSolutions #Infrastructure #TeamWork #Innovation Vactor Manufacturing CUES Inc. Water Magazine takes a look at the exciting world of OCU Trenchless. It’s always good to see our name in print! We’re thrilled to share this recent feature on trenchless technology published this week in Water Magazine. What a fantastic showcase of our groundbreaking work in the industry! As leaders in trenchless technology, OCU is very aware of how it is transforming underground infrastructure projects. Whilst we continue to invest and complete more projects using Horizontal Drilling (HDD), we become even more confident that to get the most out of the efficiencies and enhanced safety that these technologies offer, collaboration is key! Demand is increasing for underground works as the pace of the UK’s energy transition to sustainability quickens. Add to this that the requirements of utility and energy projects are becoming increasingly complex, with the challenges of densely populated or environmentally sensitive areas, and there has never been a more pressing time for innovation and collaboration to come together. OCU is approaching 20 years in our trenchless journey, now experienced in completing full end-to-end projects. This includes using in-house technology, including a bespoke configuration of excavators and Tonghand attachments which are a first of its kind in the UK, and are part of OCU’s mission to continue to keep investing in innovation. As members of the United Kingdom for the Society of Trenchless Technology (UKSTT ), we notably provide fully independent trenchless solutions also. “Tonghand delivers unparalleled speed, precision and performance. OCU focuses on investing in technology is aimed at increasing productivity and improving collaboration, benefitting the most complex of projects” - Ross Henderson, OCU HDD Director. Read more about how OCU is leading the way in the water sector with our in-house trenchless technology in this recent press coverage from Water Magazine. A complex three-year project to restore a drinking water storage reservoir, and increase the efficiency of the storage of fresh, clean, drinking water, has won the Utility Week Infrastructure Delivery Award at its event last month. AtkinsRéalis and DDS Group worked with South East Water after millions of litres of water was lost when sinkholes appeared at the drinking water storage reservoir in Aylesford in 2020. It is not often that a sunken site is brought back to life, but that was the result of the work on this extraordinary project, which utilised a wide range of specialist surveys and assessments, including geophysical, laser scanning ground-level monitoring and dynamic probing, to increase understanding of what was happening underground. Of the three cells on site, one was demolished, a second repaired and a third split into two, increasing turnover and efficiency. A new, temporary, water treatment works was set up whilst the work was ongoing, while an existing above-ground raw water tank was repurposed at the same time. Winning this award is great endorsement of the work that was carried out and the collaboration that made it possible. #Water #UtilityWeek #Awards #Collaboration
