𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 🏔️🧳 Last week, we spent two productive days on the Rigi for our annual Spring Break offsite, unexpectedly surrounded by snow! ❄️ Our yearly Spring Break offsite is not exactly a break – but definitely a chance to step away from daily work, dive deep into PvL topics, and strengthen our team spirit. This year, we focused on sustainability and data-driven business, got creative in a hackathon, and had a lot of fun competing in various games and challenges. 🎥 Check out our recap video to see the team in action! #teamoffsite #teamspirit #culture #businessarchitect

Are dev people having joy & fun at work? For an environment to be great and for people to feel belonging, 3 aspects need to be present: ♡ Everyone feels part of the team. ♡ The team environment is safe. ♡ The team atmosphere is full of joy & fun. But most of the dev teams we've analyzed with the TReE Team Scan tool find it difficult to have fun at work. A typical picture we're seeing in the reports ↓ --- If you have doubts about whether people on your team are having fun at work 👉 Do a reality check by TReE Team Scan: SoftSkillsPills.com/scan

Reposting primarily for Vitaly Sharovatov's comment. Sprints are nowhere to be found in the #agilemanifesto. This is a #Scrum term. The way sprints and other Scrum rituals are usually implemented in a corporate environment, they mostly serve to increase stress, exhort developers to meet artificial deadlines (usually at the expense of quality) and waive the development team's responsibility for overall product success. Focus on product and value, not on rituals and politics.
We all want to finish what we commit to in a Sprint. But did you know that finishing everything every sprint can be an indicator that your team is playing it too safe? Don't get me wrong; completing work is great! And we should strive to complete everything that we committed to every sprint. That doesn't mean that we will actually finish everything though. When we don't quite finish everything it means that we're pushing ourselves, we're stretching our goal, and we're trying to get better each and every sprint. If your team is finishing everything that they commit to every sprint, it might be time to encourage them to bring in a few more stories. Learn why not finishing everything every sprint might actually be a good thing: https://lnkd.in/gmwF3Vb7

Show appreciation for your fellow software engineers – and all the great work they do… Let them know when something they did stands out. 🟢 Have a 'kudos' jar at the office (the office?) – when something great happens, write it down and share it. 🟢 Send a quick email or text to give a shout-out for a job well done. 🟢 Make a point to recognise someone's achievements at team meetings. A small act of kindness can make someone’s day. How do you let your teammates know they did a good job? 👀
