This was a great event. Hands down. No discussion. All the glory goes to the planning committee, of which Comms was not a part. What our small but mighty Comms team of 3 did do, was to elevate our content game with the simple addition of 2 key pieces of video equipment that together cost less than 70 bucks. With a tripod and a noise cancelling mic, we did this little sizzle reel to showcase the incredible speakers at #POGOAfterCareEdDay. And we'll be doing more! I was reminded of a few things in creating this video: 1. A little still goes a long way. Whether that's a little team or a little budget. Both par for the course in #NonProfitCommunications. 2. Stretch goals get you out of your comfort zone and can lead to great things. Creating this video (and others) came on our radar mere days before the event. It catapulted us from the basics into a full production unit: scripting, directing, editing, captioning, etc. 3. Ain't nothing like team work to make the dream work! Yep, this cliche still holds water. Thanks to Paula Lacsena for her production skills, Kelly Zorzi for post-production visioning, and Shannon Caskey, CFRE and Lauren Ettin for seeding the idea. Operation Breast Density’s Breast Cancer Screening Symposium is an educational Series taking a more individualized patient centered approach to Breast Cancer Screening. Its focus will be on breast density education and an understanding of the challenges that come with imaging women with dense breasts. The event will be held on Saturday, March 2nd from 9:00 am -12pm at the MSU Management Education Center located at 811 W Square Lake Road, Troy MI 48098. Registration, Breakfast and vendors available starting at 8:30 am. The symposium's target audience is clinicians that commonly screen for breast cancer, such as family medicine, internal medicine, and obstetrics & gynecology physicians, as well as nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician assistants in those fields. The symposium will provide an opportunity for 3 hours of continued medical education credit for physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses and physician assistants that attend.
