The idea of mass production, increased shelf life and capitalist idea driven agriculture is the reason why we have poisonous compounds in our food production systems. Seedless food production has taken over indigenous food production, tracing down the elements, you will discover how all the nutritious elements in our food is lost over the years and what is left is just hunger satisfaction lacking nutrients. There is a significant amount of misinformation and marketing from traditional meat industries, aimed at preserving their market share. This includes funding studies and disseminating information that highlights the negatives of plant-based alternatives while downplaying the well-documented health risks of processed meats. As a result, consumers are often bombarded with conflicting information, making it challenging to discern the truth about the relative benefits and drawbacks of processed plant-based meats. This article examines the reasons behind this discrepancy and explores whether the negative reputation of processed plant-based meat is justified.

The Difference Between Commercially Produced Meat and Game Meat? With commercially produced meat the primary goal is to maximize growth and production efficiency, which often involves the use of growth hormones and antibiotics to prevent disease and promote faster growth. For decades, due to the rising cost of corn, farmers have used factory seconds of big brand-named candy, cookies and other sweets, as well as used grain from breweries, citrus pulp, “cakes” left over from manufacturing soy sauce, peanut skins, “bread waste,” chocolate, Kool-Aid mix, meat and bone meal, poultry byproduct and dried and ground tissue of under decomposed fish to supplement cows’ diets. For those conscious of where and what is in their food, this should be a real concern of commercially-bought meat. Additionally, these animals are usually raised in confined environments, such as feedlots or barns, where they have limited space to roam. Our lives depend on healthy food. I believe it's imperative to watch the new documentary from #MichaelPollan #FoodInc2 to learn about our food supply system one bite at a time by watching this informative and thought provoking film. You and your family can move forward by making choices to work toward a healthier future which is certainly my goal. Food, Inc. 2 is an update to 2008's Food, Inc. which was a groundbreaking Oscar®-nominated expose on the multinational corporations that control our food supply. There has been more consolidation in the food industry since 2008 and Food, Inc. 2 explores how our values should impact our food choices. This }#documentary emphasizes the anti-trust and #monopoly issues encountered in our agricultural system. It highlights the profits of capitalism versus the sustainability of nature and how this directly affects the quality and nutrition of our #food. In addition, the movie makes the point that the #agricultural labor force is essential, but is often treated as disposable. Corporate profits have risen at the expense of both consumers and rural America's #farming communities. There are definitely concerns for future soil and water quality which impact our food's nutritional value as well as the effect they have on individuals and our communities. I value the information shared by Senators #CoryBooker and #JonTester as they work to improve access to healthy food and to support our farmers. The documentary is also interesting when it chronicles the food additives which affect our taste and metabolism. I really enjoyed learning about the innovative farmers working to improve our food supply from the ground up or, in the case of a kelp farmer, by charting a new course in food supply. Food, Inc. was released the year I was born and this new documentary, Food, Inc. 2 will hopefully provide further food for thought for a new generation. In limited theaters April 9; on digital April 12 https://lnkd.in/e-Wai8C4

Savour Solutions is a company on the cutting edge of food safety. With our bio-disruptive technology, we have given many meat processors peace of mind - knowing that their products are safe. Apart from that, our technology increases yield for certain products by managing water activity. Our more recent LinkedIn posts have outlined how our technology keeps the processing equipment - such as blades and conveyor belts - free from those pesky microbial contaminants, as well as microbial pathogens. With all the recent focus about these two areas that Savour Solutions makes a difference in, it must also be remembered that we are able to do the same for most other food manufacturers - not the least of which is the dairy industry. Dairy - as we are all aware - is highly nutritious. This is awesome for us as consumers, but it is also great for those microbial contaminants and pathogens as a growth medium. Our team not only understands how to develop totally natural products that are effective against bacterial, fungal and yeast contaminants, but we take time to understand the actual food manufacturing processes - finding the best place to use our technology that will be most effective in controlling these contaminants. #techworking #foodsafety

More than 820M people go to bed hungry – but one-third of food produced is lost or wasted. It’s clear that food systems* need to be transformed. As part of collaborative efforts to provide access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food, 66M children in 44 countries received milk or other nutritious beverages in Tetra Pak packages last year through school programs. . . . *The term ‘food systems’ refers to all the elements and activities related to producing and consuming food, and their effects, including economic, health, and environmental outcomes: https://lnkd.in/ewtrmfPf

I share 1 impactful startup story (almost) everyday| Freelance Writer for Earth-friendly brands| Aspiring Vegan and Minimalist
Someone recently asked me: if I can do only 1 thing to have a positive impact on the planet, what do you suggest? Modify your food choices. If you are reading this, I assume you are privileged. To have enough meals throughout the day. All you need to do is modify a few of them. Not asking you to go vegan here. If you eat red meat, maybe reduce your consumption. Or move to poultry sources. If you mostly consume poultry sources, then try eggs & milk. And if you are at eggs and milk already, maybe try tofu. Or soy milk. So you see, all of us can make these changes. Become a better version of ourselves. And have a positive impact on the planet. P.S. The chart below was designed by the talented Sonali Kathuria.
