In a study published in Science Immunology, a YSM team including Yale Department of Internal Medicine's Erol Fikrig, MD, finds that a protein in #mosquito saliva binds to hosts' #immune receptors – weakening the body's response to viruses like #dengue and yellow fever. https://brnw.ch/21wLQzE

In an American Heart Association statement co-authored by the Yale Department of Internal Medicine's Carlos Mena-Hurtado, MD, researchers conclude that #renal denervation, a catheter-based procedure that silences the renal nervous system, is an effective #treatment for many patients with #hypertension. https://brnw.ch/21wLNXB

A YSM team led by Janet Lydecker, PhD, has created the first evidence-based treatment for #bullying. Researchers share promising #results in the latest International Journal of Eating Disorders. “Most of the research has been about preventing bullying from happening or helping schools to manage the effects of bullying, but nothing really for the individual #patient, which is bizarre because we know that bullying has all of these really severe consequences,” Lydecker says. https://brnw.ch/21wLLnl
