With over two decades of experience in the retail and consumer goods industry, I’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible individuals and companies, including Campbells, Coca Cola Southwest Beverages, Walmart. My roles have spanned from sales and merchandising to customer satisfaction, inventory management, and beyond. Throughout my career, I’ve been driven by a passion for excellence and a relentless focus on building strong customer relationships. Whether it’s developing innovative sales strategies, enhancing merchandising techniques, or fostering community engagement, my goal has always been to drive business growth and deliver exceptional results. Current Role: Outside Sales Representative at Acosta Sales and Marketing (Campbells Team) in Easton, PA and surrounding area. Previous Role: Retail Sales Merchandiser at Crossmark, SAS Retail Services, Coca Cola Southwest Beverages, and more. Along with different roles within the field and the office both as a manager and a leader. Community Engagement: Founder of two networking groups. In my career journey , I have realized that networking, building relationships and mirroring the paths of admirable successful individuals in one's selected industry is crucial for growth. The actualization of these convictions have engineered my growth thus far. I remember having to resume work a few months back as an in-store merchandiser for NIVEA . I was confident in my expected delivery, as the job position was the exact same as my current position. Alas, I was wrong. The new role came with its uniqueness and technicalities and I was eager for a good challenge! Asking questions for in depth clarity is the first card I would always put forward in times like these and it never declines. Fostering relationships with my bosses and asking them vital questions significant to my job/tasks/industry is an added advantage, as it has made me knowledgeable and observant in my area of expertise. You can see clear growth trends, especially in late 2020 and 2021. The chart helps stakeholders track overall revenue patterns and compare the impacts of seasonal fluctuations or strategic changes in the business. 2️⃣ Sales by Region (Map Chart) This chart shows the distribution of sales across different regions in the United States, including the Midwest, Northeast, South, Southeast, and West. This post has been on my mind for a while now, and today's trigger was the appointment of Manish Tiwary as the incoming Head of Nestle India SAR. In my view, traditional companies are also increasingly valuing E-commerce experience in their leadership hires. Having run HomeShop18 and running an E-commerce trading outfit with Dupindera Sandhu, I believe E-commerce experience is crucial. Even if you have not worked in an E-commerce company, getting hands-on with E-commerce operations is key. Understanding the operational matrix of ROAS, Dispatch efficiency, economics etc are critical. Use platforms like Meta advertising, Shopify, Unicommerce , Amazon, Flipkart panels yourself. Ask questions, research to improve efficiency, and don't solely rely on teams or agencies. There is a lot to learn and ask. Just like Deepinder Goyal does deliveries personally to understand the pain points. Isn't all this true for all aspects of business. Like in the olden days, Unilever India would make us (management trainees) go thru front line selling stints and stints in Etah (more on that some time later). Take these two sample candidates when hiring for a Retail Media Lead: 1️⃣ Candidate 1: - 5 years of Retail Media Experience - 20 years of shopper marketing experience - Salary Expectation: $250k 2️⃣ Candidate 2: - 5 Years of Retail Media Experience - 0 Years Shopper Marketing Experience - Salary Expectation: $75k 😬 While I mean no offense to those who have deep experience in commerce and the retail world, you can see that there is a clear advantage for newcomers to the space. 😮 For an agency or brand looking to fill a role, they can do so with a seasoned leader who only at the tail end of their career learned retail media, or a candidate who's entire professional career has been focused on Retail Media. 😁 There are certainly companies who need leaders and not just expertise, but for an industry so new, we are short on knowledge, and deep on experience in other spaces. 💲 While every situation is different, you can see the appeal of a newer talent to the space, simply based on cost. #ecommerce #retailmedia #shoppermarketing
