I’ve dedicated my career to developing and delivering unique, end-to-end economic development services for cities, companies, and developers. I am a leader, speaker, and difference-maker.
On the power of “Yes” and the magic of community collaboration - a throwback to a day that defines innovation and resilience. Ten years ago, as dawn broke and I made my way back from a workshop I had led in Eagle Pass, and while on the road a call from Bastrop—where I had the honor of working at the time—changed the course of my day and, in many ways, my approach to opportunities. I remember this day because It was International Happiness Day, and a friend a and Bastrop residnet called with an idea: “Could we shoot a video set to the tune of “Happy,” a song that was trending at the time to celebrate International Happiness Day?” Honestly, I thought, “It’s 7 in the morning. I’m driving a rented Prius four hours from Bastrop, and you want to shoot, produce, and post a video today?” So, naturally, I said l, “Yes,” because that’s what Super Dave Quinn would do. The logistics seemed daunting. Me, miles away driving in a rented Prius, with the day already in full swing. But the essence of innovation isn’t in the ‘how’ but the ‘yes.’ “Yes,” I found myself saying. Yes to the unpredictable, yes to the seemingly impossible, because that’s what we do. The video below is more than a memory. It’s a reminder of the power in embracing opportunities, no matter how unexpected. It wasn’t about the how; it was about the will. And as the day unfolded, so did the path to making it happen, guided by a community’s heart and hustle. This experience taught me countless lessons, but the most profound was the incredible feats we can achieve when we foster a culture of yes. It’s about more than just agreeing; it’s about opening doors to possibilities, about communities and individuals coming together to turn a vision into reality. This video, crafted in a single day, stands as a vibrant reminder of what’s possible when we unite in creativity and purpose. As you watch, I hope you’re reminded of the power within you to embrace opportunities, lead with optimism, and build something meaningful together. Let’s carry this spirit of possibility into every challenge, every project, every day. Here’s to saying “Yes” - to opportunities, to community, and to making the impossible possible. Watch to the end to see all the folks who said Yes and helped make it happen. Bonus points: drop a comment on the investment you think it took to produce this. https://lnkd.in/d7GTJVNY #SuperDaveQuinn #Innovation #Community #BastropTX #TexasStrong #EconDev #YesMan #Texas #econdev #TexasEDConnection #superdave #d1experts

Sydney R U OK? Whilst R U OK? Day was yesterday and is the National Day of Action, we encourage everyone to Ask R U OK? Any day of the year. Asking the question, 'are you OK?' can make a real impact in the workplace, in the community and in our family environments. As employers, colleagues, community leaders and family members, we can all create a culture where people feel confident asking and answering this simple yet important question. These conversations that are as a result of asking the question can make a real difference to our colleagues, friends and family members going through a tough time. By having regular, meaningful conversations, you build trust and normalise talking about what’s really going on, so when the people in your world find themselves struggling, they know you’re someone they can talk to. Sydney collectively if we can engage and ask the question we can all make a huge difference. Sydneysiders let’s not forget, we all have the golden ticket to live in this wonderful city. #sydney #ruok? #nationaldayofaction #askthequestion #goldenticket #culture #conversations #welovesydney

Professor in Education. Advocate for our Community. Invested in the infrastructure of the Next Generation.
Teamwork. We all have our skill sets. As a team, we can be stronger together. Yesterday was 'Make it happen Monday', and I briefly chatted about that Literacy Matters has some great programs. And they really wanted to bring back the pancake breakfast. Around the same time, I was connecting with United Way of the Fraser Valley on some upcoming events and grant applications. Well, today is 'Talk about it Tuesday', and it is always exciting to hear the good stories and successes. Also, when we share our challenges, it opens a door for communication. How can we find a way to make it happen? Who can we connect with in the community that has those tools to fill in the gaps? Did you find it challenging at first to connect with someone? When you need to process information, who do you communicate with and discuss your success story or challenges? Do you find yourself finding solutions working within your team? Teamwork really does make the dream work. #talkaboutittuesday #abbotsford #literacymattersabbotsford #unitedwaybc #community #conversations #communication #locallove #grants

Results-Driven Data Analytics Engineer | Python | R | SQL | Machine Learning | AWS | Azure | Data Visualization | Data Pipeline Development | NLP | Transforming Complex Data into Actionable Strategies
Rewinding to the most incredible evening at Moxy Boston for April Boston Networking Event w/ Mass Professional Networking. As I look back on the enriching conversations and invaluable connections made, I'm reminded of the incredible talent and passion that propels our industry forward. Being immersed in such a vibrant gathering of passionate individuals reignited my belief in the transformative power of community and collaboration. In a world where the weight of everyday rejections can sometimes dim our spirits, connecting with like-minded souls infused me with renewed energy and spurred me to push beyond my limits. A highlight for me was the diversity of backgrounds and cultures present. As a recent graduate diving into the realm of Data Analytics and attending my inaugural networking event, I initially harbored slight trepidation. Yet, those concerns evaporated upon encountering the warm reception and genuine interest from every corner of the room. Meeting individuals like Michael Ziebell, Ram Santhanam, LaQueen Arleen Battle, Rajeev Kumar, and David Gerth was a true highlight. Their willingness to share stories, offer advice, and extend support left an indelible mark, affirming that every voice, regardless of background or experience, has value and contributes to our collective journey forward. It was a reaffirmation that in embracing diversity, we not only enrich our own lives but also pave the way for a more inclusive and vibrant professional landscape. Big kudos to Jeffrey DeSocio for organizing such an event that fostered meaningful connections and ignited new ideas. Looking ahead with anticipation and excitement for the next chapter of growth and collaboration! Here's to embracing every rejection as a stepping stone and every connection as a wellspring of inspiration. Together, let's shatter barriers, defy expectations, and create a future brimming with limitless possibilities. #Networking #AprilBoston #EventRecap #CareerGrowth #CommunityConnections #MoxyBoston

Community organizing is a powerful way to develop critical thinking, adaptability, and collaborative skills. By engaging with the community at-large, taking the time to really listen in order to understand their problems & needs, you hone your analytical skills and learn to identify the root of issues by breaking down complex issues into smaller, more manageable parts. You also learn to adapt to changing conditions by responding to unexpected challenges. you adapt quickly, reassess plans, and implement alternative strategies. Community organizing experience lends itself to enhancing your collaborative problem-solving skills, by facilitating group discussions, coalition building and empower others to take ownership of solutions.
