Music as a whole pulls >1 billion hours watch time each day, with DJ sets making up a large chunk. But unlike traditional music videos, they're much better at grabbing attention. Some of the best examples feature gorgeous destinations, cozy social settings & unique music concepts: ↳ Flavour Trip ↳ Black House Radio ↳ Dom Whiting ↳ My Analog Journal But a quick search of [insert literally any place] + DJ set will show you unique concepts (cafes, hotels, hot air balloons, Antarctic cruises, etc.) They stand out for different reasons, communicate different vibes, & get a lot of attention. Typically, the most visually unique get the most engagement. They keep people watching for hours at a time & bring in thousands to millions of views. 👀 Plenty of you will see the opportunity as a no-brainer. But the VAST majority of brands overlook it even though it could bring both big & small companies a tangible impact. 💡 Let's take the tagged video for example. Flavour Trip is a famous couple that travel Europe recording mixes. This video was shot at an Airbnb they actively promote in the description. It feels authentic & creates a gorgeous backdrop for their video, but also gets people talking & brings in a tonne of bookings. ↳ It's cheaper than running ads, ↳ gets more watch time than TikTok or Instagram, ↳ is mutually profitable. & while Flavour trip is a big name, many smaller DJ's would be happily offer cheap/free services. All you need to do is: 1/ set up in front of your best view. 2/ choose music that fits your vibe. 3/ bring in a quality videographer. 4/ turn the experience into YT magic. *You could even turn the whole thing into a profitable event to make it even more worth your while. Do festivals bring the feel of festivity these days? Today is Ganesh chaturthi and I was not able to sense a marked difference from any other day except for the clay pillayar, colorful umbrella and puja items. A week before I ordered for kozhukkattai from the caterer to be delivered today. Early in the morning I was reminded of what my grandmother said. Yes, she used to tell what the flavor and fragrance of jaggery and ghee can add to the glory of the occasion. Decades back all festivals brought so much warmth and joy which every other person shares is diminishing and there is also a fear prevailing that our future generations could never even preserve the traditional values of every festival. Some few years back snacks for festivals were made at home and they were shared with the neighborhood; we were able to learn the goodness from others and do improvisations that made every occasion memorable and interesting. Nowadays it is mostly exchange of brands with the same taste and flavor making us feel why at all we exchange, leaving us confined to homes with OTT movies. Our taste buds becoming numb and availability of rich food stuffs and partying all through the year causing a sense of monotony and boredom, with no treat to our dopamine levels. Messages on social media do bring in the festive mood, but can we bring back those days when festivals were rejuvenating and refreshing?
