"It is time for sport to prioritise joy" - 👏 Cath Bishop, could not agree more. The report, research and your blog cut "to the heart of the role of sport in our lives, asks questions about the experiences we want to create for the next generation through sport, and the sort of society to which we want to belong". "The report invites us to consider, through a long-term lens, how sport can support us while growing up, sustain us through the ups and downs of adult life, and play its role in the crucial shift needed across the country to think preventively about our health." Please read this excellent blog which resonates so strongly with the principles that underpin ParkPlay - making sport and activity fun, for all generations, for now and a more active life. #MeetMovePlay https://lnkd.in/eyAdFipg

#TEAMWORK MCL is here to help Smaller semi/amateur clubs often face challenges in implementing strength and conditioning programs due to several reasons: Financial Constraints: Limited budgets make it difficult to afford qualified strength and conditioning coaches or invest in necessary equipment and facilities. Lack of Expertise: Smaller clubs may not have access to experienced strength and conditioning professionals who understand the specific needs and limitations of amateur athletes. Resource Limitations: These clubs may struggle to allocate time, space, and resources for regular strength and conditioning sessions amidst other priorities and commitments. Limited Awareness: Some clubs may underestimate the importance of strength and conditioning or lack awareness of its potential benefits for improving performance and reducing injury risk. Volunteer-Based: Many semi/amateur clubs rely heavily on volunteers who may not have the expertise or time to dedicate to developing and implementing structured strength and conditioning programs. Access to Facilities: Smaller clubs may lack access to suitable training facilities or equipment necessary for effective strength and conditioning sessions. Competitive Disadvantage: Without proper strength and conditioning support, players at smaller clubs may be at a competitive disadvantage compared to athletes at larger, better-resourced clubs. Addressing these challenges often requires creative solutions, such as seeking partnerships with local fitness professionals or collaborating with other clubs to share resources and expertise. When it comes to running a gym, member cancellations are an unfortunate part of the process. They can be frustrating, confusing, and leave you in a tight spot when it comes to your gym's growth. But like Zach Forrest always says: "Don't take it personally, but handle it personally." Taking the time to have a conversation with members who are leaving your gym can be a game changer. Before you know it, your ex-gym members could become a referral source for new leads to help you grow your gym's community. Check out "How To Handle Cancellations and Still Earn Referrals From Them" over on PushStart in the Plug-In course: https://lnkd.in/g3TViaCx #PushStartByPushPress #GymOwners #CrossFitAffiliates

Powerade Champions the Pause: New Campaign Uplifts Athletes During Olympics Sports drink giant Powerade, owned by The Coca-Cola Company, is launching a global campaign centered around mental and physical well-being for athletes, just in time for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The initiative, titled "Pause is Power," aims to break the stigma around taking breaks and instead position them as a crucial element of success. Powerade's campaign features gymnast Simone Biles, a powerful advocate for mental health awareness. A central piece is a video ad called "The Vault," which depicts Biles training amidst the pressures of media scrutiny. The ad emphasizes how Biles tunes out the noise and focuses on herself before tackling a vault. This campaign extends beyond advertising. Powerade will create a special "Pause is Power" zone within the Olympic Village. This space will provide athletes with tools for mental and physical recovery, including relaxation areas, innovative visualization exercises, and safe spaces to discuss mental health. Overall, Powerade's "Pause is Power" campaign is a significant step towards acknowledging the importance of mental well-being in athletics. It encourages athletes to prioritize self-care and use strategic breaks to return stronger, both during the Olympics and beyond. what are your thoughts on this campaign? Is prioritizing mental health important in sports (Photo credit: Ogilvy) #olympic #vault #power #health #healthylifestyle #sportsman #sportsmanship #mentalhealth #cocacola #olympics2024
