Travel back to 1945 with us, when Yonkers Contracting first decided to venture outside of Yonkers to West Point, NY. This project involved clearing the United States Military Academy at West Point rifle range and installing oil tanks. Yonkers tackled the challenge of excavating and removing substantial amounts of rock to install reinforced concrete foundations for these oil tanks. Rock excavation was already a familiar task for the company back then and remains so to this day. #FlashBackFriday #yccThrowback #BuildingQualitySince1945 #RockSolidBuilders #excavation
I worked for Yonkers in the early 1980’s we excavated a lot of rock on Rt 78 for the Watchung reservation cut. Erected many cast in place walls, in addition to 5 Miles of sound walls.
