“This has helped me cope and keep going... I was in crisis, I now feel like things will get better and I can start to plan for the future. I feel very fortunate that a service as good as this is available to support me and others in the community. The various different support is amazing, I was able to access Art Therapy to support my mental health and got help with courses and financial management. The continued encouragement is great.” A testimonial from Richard, one of our fantastic 'Rise' clients 🌟 Through our exciting new 'Rise2Thrive' initiative, we continue to provide a blend of wellbeing and employment support, including support in becoming self-employment based on your goals! Throughout my career, I have had the humble opportunity to work with people of all ages, diverse backgrounds, various career and industry experiences. Two things transcend those differences--our humanity and our mental health. Everyone is dealing with something for one reason or another. When we bring those struggles to work, we further impact ourselves as well as our teams and our customers. Getting help when we don't know how or what to ask for is challenging. Thankfully, this topic is less taboo than it was when I started my career, and help is available through many resources. One starting point is Mental Health America: https://lnkd.in/gn9irZD9. It's never too late to get the help you need. You matter!

Read this CBC article if you want some hope in your day! It's such an encouraging story!
"MacCormick credits her success to a worker with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) who never gave up on her, along with getting affordable, safe housing provided by Indwell, which also provides support services for residents. It's a model that many in London and beyond have championed — first, getting someone a safe, affordable place to live, then helping them work on mental and physical health issues." In honor of #NationalDomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth we have decided to join forces with @VictimsVoice and NOT to promote statistics... We will NOT be sharing content that needs trigger warnings... We will NOT be showing images that show fear, despair, or hurt. Instead, we will honor the resilience of survivors and their path to a better life by promoting a "31 Days of Mental Health" Challenge. There's no cost, no judgement, no obligation - just simple things to do to make this world a better place for you and those around you. Complete one activity a day from October 1 – 31, 2024. Cross them off your list, then share your experience (in a private form). Do all 31 activities* and VictimsVoice will send you a gift box filled with all sorts of goodies as a thank you for making this commitment to yourself (we're contributing to the box). PLUS, they'll gift a VictimsVoice Partner Member 3 VictimsVoice licenses in your honor so they can help more people in their journey! Go here to get started - https://zurl.co/hw9O
