Global Peacebuilders Forum 2024 Highlights: 🔹 Call-to-Action for the “Women, Peace & Security (WPS)” Global Agenda, the pivotal role of Satyagraha & women in peace movements. 🔹 Launch of ‘Super Naari - A Period Equity Initiative’: Address the global peace economic crisis of period poverty. Structured peace education is key to creating a paradigm shift in the way the world thinks about peace. 💭 Imagine a world where #equality isn’t a dream but a reality 🌐 🌎 In our mission towards more equal and inclusive societies, one resource stands out: Our Inequality Solutions Portal, a digital hub packed with innovative ideas from around the globe, all aimed at tackling inequality head-on. 💡 Curated by the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, the Inequality Solutions Portal isn’t just a repository of successful ideas and policies; it’s a rallying call to action for change and a roadmap towards a fairer, more inclusive future for all 🌍👩🏾🤝👩🏼. Recently, our team at the NYU Center on International Cooperation (CIC) organized a hybrid discussion chaired by our Senior Program Officer Roshni Menon, PhD with women representatives from the Bangsamoro working towards #peace and justice in Mindanao, the second-largest island in the Philippines 🇵🇭. Their work and efforts notably address historical injustices and economic disparities to build lasting peace 🕊️. One aspect discussed was the vital role of women in achieving a lasting and sustainable #peacebuilding process. Their involvement at all levels of society is critical to making progress. Moreover, the group emphasized the importance of learning from one another, drawing on lessons from successful peace processes in places like Belfast and Colombia. 🌏 In the current international context, this exchange was a productive discussion on the complexities of the peacebuilding process and the importance of maintaining an optimistic outlook towards its realization. With global conflicts escalating to the highest levels since World War II, impacting even areas outside traditionally fragile contexts, and affecting an estimated two billion people worldwide, the international community must intensify efforts to foster peace and stability for present and future generations. 🔗 Learn more about our Inequality Solutions Portal: https://lnkd.in/erKTiCxP #EqualityForAll #InclusiveSociety #PeaceBuilding #GlobalChange #GenderEquality

Did you know that B-BBEE is crucial to fostering economic transformation in South Africa? B-BBEE aims to address historical inequalities by promoting the inclusion of previously disadvantaged individuals in business activities. It enhances opportunities for black-owned enterprises, stimulates job creation, and cultivates a more equitable society. Embracing B-BBEE isn't just a compliance requirement; it's a fundamental step towards building a fairer and more prosperous future for all South Africans. - M Achary #Izala #YellowBrickArmy #bbbee #jointventures #compliance #EME #QSE #Generic #verification #ethicaltransformation

We made it to United Nations 🙌 And we took our mission with us : To cooperate internationally on challenges faced by people with disabilities. Creating zero barriers. I can't stress enough how much international cooperation is important to us. It fills my heart to get an opportunity to personally speak with over 100 thought leaders, international bodies, NGO's & start-ups with a social impact. It is very surprising to learn that we face similar challenges in most countries. But personally I see it as an opportunity. Since the challenges exist means there is a reason for ambitious start-ups like Hable to exist. There is demand for our work. We believe we are the necessary glue to bring everyone together. --- Thanks to Dr. Anthony Giannoumis Sumita Kunashakaran Regont Arnori Zero Project Freek van Welsenis Letícia Bardini for making this possible. 🙏 #zerocon24 #socialimpact #sustainabledevelopment #inclusiveeducation

⁉ How do you show your colleagues you value them? Different people will answer in different ways. But being listened to and having their contribution acknowledged and taken seriously is high on many people's lists. One way of doing this is through active listening - and feeding ideas and lesson-learning into organisation-wide learning and change. This is something that Ajoy Datta does. He applies #ActionLearning approaches to #organisationalchange. Particularly around #inclusion and how people work in #teams together, but also in setting #strategy and influencing #policy. Listen to our podcast where Ajoy describes his work and links it to #antiracist and #decolonising action. Feeling valued by your team and your organisation is crucial to #performance. People of colour (#POC) working in the #development and #humanitarian sectors report experiencing #racism than devalues their contribution and thwarts their professional contribution. Being an #inclusive employer means listening and providing all your staff the opportunity to deliver at their highest level of professionalism and creativity. This sounds simple, but it isn't, as #Eurocentrism and #power asymmetries often get in the way. Internalised scripts around colour #hierarchies and #culture can leave some members of staff experiencing #microaggressions and #gaslighting. And rules and procedures only go so far. Personal transformation where people take responsibility for their own internalised #racism, #colourism and #Eurocentrism is important. Guided processes that enable #inclusion and take a #participatory approach to setting organisational direction can enable transformatory #change. Ajoy Datta talks to me and Dr. Nompilo Ndlovu (Ph.D) on our #podcast about the approach he uses based on #actionlearning and a #psychodynamic understanding of how people behave in teams and groups. A fascinating and #radical approach that embeds #antiracist and #decolonising action right in the heart of #organisations. #decolonise #decolonize #dei #deij #actionresearch #participation #psychdynamic #podcast #strategy #organisationalchange #localize #localise Dr. Nompilo Ndlovu (Ph.D), Ajoy Datta, Rutendo Nyaku, Mary Ana McGlasson, Faye Ekong SHRM Senior Certified Professional

Last but not least a word from Željko Vukša-Fejzić, our Global Member Advisory Board President from Bosnia and Herzegovina! "My focus areas are two-fold: firstly, I'm eager to collaborate on strategies for increased youth representation in policymaking. This could involve toolkits, workshops, and direct engagement with policymakers. Secondly, working with the GMAB, I envision exploring platforms for youth dialogue, resources for combating online disinformation, and showcasing successful youth-led initiatives. I'm eager to collaborate with fellow GMAB members and regional leaders to develop and implement strategies that address imposter syndrome. Additionally, fostering regional collaboration within International Republican Institute GenDem's global network is key. I'm excited about establishing regional mentorship programs or knowledge-sharing initiatives. Connecting young leaders facing similar challenges can foster collaborative solutions and empower them to actively shape a more democratic future." Let's join Željko Vukša-Fejzić in shaping a more democratic future for all! #GenDem2024
