The NCAA has finally come up with an outline for the terms of the House Settlement. Here’s my $.02 for Athletic Directors figuring out a path forward in 2025 as the dust settles. Per the outline, each school can share up to $22 million per year at the start of the 2025-26 school year. This annual amount could go up to $33 million per school by the end of the settlement’s 10-year term. Long story short, there’s a massive financial gap that major universities need to fill. My $.02 is schools should ‘follow the money’ to fill this gap with minimal budget cuts. In 2023, Donor Contributions and Ticket Sales contributed to 37.43% of FBS revenue. To maximize this revenue stream I’d identify 1. Which donors & ticket holders are making the biggest financial impact? 2. What do they value most? 3. How can we deliver this value to maximize donations? My hot take is that we’ll see a historic shift in the hierarchy of the FBS. Those who best identify a strategy to win financially over the next 10 years will rise above the rest. Thoughts? Source: Knight Commission On Intercollegiate Athletics

The Project Tomorrow Campaign will support the Class of 2027 as they continue their journey with HEAF, Inc. HEAF's current 9th-grade cohort is a smart, curious, and dedicated group of students. They come to HEAF to learn and to expand their horizons, and they all say that one of the most important things that HEAF provides to them is a sense of community and belonging. https://lnkd.in/eYYaD38s Please consider a donation to this great organization with a proven track record!    Over the past 35 years, HEAF’s programs have had a significant impact in the lives of our students, including HEAF’s Class of 2023. ~ Every student in HEAF’s Class of 2023 graduated on time. The 2022 average is 83.7% for NYC.  ~ Once again, 100% of our high school graduates plan to enroll in four-year colleges. The rate of enrollment among all NYC students is 63%.  ~ On average, 83% of HEAF’s college students earn a bachelor’s degree within six years. National averages are 37% and 42% respectively for Black and Latino students.

Stop the donations, and don't send your kids to any school that practices appeasement and fosters and tolerates anti-Semitism and race based bigotry. This must get through to the Jewish community, and to the Asian American community. i am still seeing Jewish friends celebrating their kids getting into schools like Brown, Northwestern etc, which have capitulated to radical pro Hamas protestor demands, instead of punishing those involved in illegal acts. I notice that many bew buildings now at major college campuses bear the names of Asian donors: Asian Americans--don't be stupid. What is being done to Jewish Americans (admissions discrimination) has already been done to Asian Americans and what is happening now (exclusion based on threats of violence as well and campuses full of ideological brainwashers intent on getting your children to hate you) will happen to Asian Americans. Stop the donations, stop sending your talented and hard working kids there, support funding cuts, until real leadership is put in place and true diversity is reestablished. It can be done. But se need to start now, and be principled.

How to embarrass your children for a good cause…

Give to get. The only way for us to raise funds for a state-of-the-art 35,000SF varsity performance center was to give more than to ask without context. We needed to listen, to understand why alums don’t come back to campus, send their kids to their Alma mater and frankly invest back into athletics for the past 50+ years! The challenge was lack of Transparency, Vision, and Experiences. Our solution? Show what the funding is used for, treat athletes and alums on and off-campus right, and meet alums where they live, work, and play. Doesn’t matter the level of play, or school, your student athletes are 5% of all the high school athletes that have earned a very select roster spot at your university. They Earned It!

Founded in 2004, Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs, Inc. is a state-wide college access organization that promotes equal access and opportunities for under-represented college bound student to obtain a post-secondary education in Connecticut.  Our goal is to increase college readiness, participation and completion in Connecticut among low-income students, first-generation college-going students and students of color.Each year HHYEP has had 100% high school graduation rate, 100% college acceptance rate, and 80% parent involvement rate. Higher Heights has personally employed over 95 youth, 100% have graduated from high school, 95% have enrolled into college receiving over $10 million in scholarships and grants.  The mission of HHYEP is to change the lives of under-represented college bound students to EMPOWER, ENCOURAGE, and EQUIP them to obtain a post-secondary education. The Pentagon Memorial Fund: Charting the Path Forward for 9/11 Education 🌍 History teaches us, guides us, and serves as a cornerstone for a society's progress. Today, we're honored to share a landmark achievement in our journey to safeguard a pivotal chapter of American history. We've received the nod from the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) and earlier from the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) for the conceptual design of the 9/11 Visitor Education Center, impeccably visualized by Fentress Architects. Why is this pivotal? 🏛️ The heart of our nation, the capital, while being home to the first 9/11 Memorial, lacks a comprehensive educational and interpretive center. As we approach the 25th observance of the 9/11 attacks in 2026, the Visitor Education Center will stand within strides of the Pentagon Memorial, shadowed by the Arlington National Cemetery and the US Air Force Memorial. Our aim goes beyond bricks and mortar. We aspire to craft a narrative, a deep dive into the tragedies, the heroics, and the aftermath. As Sean T. Connaughton, our Board Chairman and President aptly said, “This history must be preserved and accurately passed on to future American generations.” The center will be a beacon, shedding light on the tales of 184 lives lost at the Pentagon on that fateful day, on the whirlwind of global responses, and on the resilience that has defined America ever since. We envision this space to also facilitate national conversations, with a state-of-the-art conference center allowing reflection on the repercussions and evolutions post-9/11. But, our story began even before the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial was etched into the capital's landscape in 2008. The Pentagon Memorial Fund was birthed in 2003, a brainchild of the families who bore the profound loss of the attack. Today, we stand tall, bolstered by private funding and an army of volunteer docents. Over one million souls from every corner of the globe stand with us annually, paying their respects and seeking knowledge. Our mission? Solemn remembrance, yes. But beyond that, it's education. It's the promise to enlighten every visitor on the intricate intricacies of that day and its lingering echoes. We stand at a juncture where your involvement can sculpt the course of this narrative.
