🚀 Transforming universities through acceleration services: Living Labs 🚀 In the CATALISI project, we are redefining how Higher Education Institutions (#HEIs) implement institutional change tailored to their unique needs. Through collaboration with facilitators and their acceleration services, we align with #ERA policy, transforming universities into beacons of European values. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲? Every university is unique, and faces its own challenges. To address these challenges, we’ve designed intervention areas focused on targeted improvement, each intervention area is supported by facilitators through acceleration services. One example of CATALISI acceleration services is Living Labs, facilitated by ENoLL (European Network of Living Labs). These provide a hands-on, real-world co-creation environment where new ideas and strategies are tested and refined alongside stakeholders. By integrating Living Labs into our universities, we’re enabling innovation, fostering growth, and positioning HEIs as hubs of transformation across Europe. 🌍 Together, we’re accelerating the future of education! #LivingLabs #HigherEducation #CATALISI #InstitutionalTransformation #Innovation #ERA Our partners ⤵ APRE - Agenzia per la Promozione della Ricerca Europea | EY | F6S Innovation | ENoLL (European Network of Living Labs) | Kaunas University of Technology | Universitat Jaume I | Luiss Guido Carli University | University of Gdansk | University College Cork | AUTH Medical Physics & Digital Innovation Lab | Amsterdam UMC Sister projects ⤵ aUPaEU | Accelerate Future HEI Collaborations ⤵ PATTERN | DocTalent4EU | GILL

A delayed recap of Day 2 of the AGCAS Annual Conference after rushing back to Lisbon to celebrate Santos Populares and slathering my skin in the scent of sizzling sardines 🐟 I boarded the plane at Manchester airport feeling very optimistic ✈ I'd just spent two full days witnessing first-hand the amount of passion ❤️ energy 🔥 and enthusiasm 😁 there is to truly transform the UK Higher Education system for the better. Knowing wholeheartedly that education and employability really are now merging as one. Highlights as follows: 🍪 1. Still no biscuit dilemmas on the breaks, but they did put white chocolate chip cookies next to the fruit bowl. White chocolate chip cookie 1 - Apple 0. 🧠 2. Loved hearing how Bev Herring and the team at (award-winning 😉) Aberystwyth University have approached integrated employability like the gargantuan, complex, multi-layered, institution-wide transformation initiative it is. As with any business transformation, which happens to be where I’ve spent the last almost 10 years of my corporate career at the LEGO Group Group and The Very Group, university transformation requires strong leadership, dedicated resource, sufficient budget allocation, meticulous planning, clear direction-setting, stakeholder engagement, KPIs and reporting. 3. Bev’s talk was the perfect segway for Darren S. at University of Liverpool to dive deeper into how having a large, dedicated and credible team is a key enabler for the successful implementation of a university-wide integrated employability strategy. 4. After feeling totally uplifted hearing Jennie Tannett and Keren Coney sharing Liverpool John Moores University's co-creation initiative working with students to support neurodivergent students and those with disabilities within the context of careers and employability, it was amazing to chat to Chris Finn, Waf Njonjo-Shaw FRSA and the rest of the team in person. As both Liverpool John Moores University alumni and former employee, this friendly and forward-thinking institution in my home city will always have a big piece of my heart ❤️ 5. And lastly, just before I slipped out of the back doors of the auditorium, I listened to a talk on a topic that flares my nostrils, tenses my muscles, gets my mindset into warrior-mode. A topic that makes me want to be the instigator of change... a talk on the decline of student mental health by award-winning GP Dominique Thompson. While on the surface, we all have employability metrics to be measured against, underneath our KPIs is a mission so much more proufnd and meaningful - to empower nextgen talent with the Mindset, Skils + Experience they need to thrive 🙌 If you’re interested to hear more about how Mindless Academy partners with universities, charities and responsible brands to unlock student potential and boost graduate outcomes, please do book a call. I’d LOVE to connect! #agcas2024 #ukhighereducation #employability #graduateoutcomes

🎓 I am thrilled to share the culmination of my academic journey! I recently defended my Master’s thesis, "Anchoring Harmony: Revitalizing the Maritime Cultural Landscape of Hanseatic Cities for a Resilient Future," under the guidance of Professors Carlo Peraboni and Nora Lombardini. This research explores critical challenges in Hanseatic cities, including the loss of identity, over-tourism, and declining maritime industries. By studying 42 cities and collaborating with residents, maritime experts, and tourists, I developed a framework that blends historic preservation with contemporary urban strategies. The focus is on preserving cultural identity, fostering sustainable tourism, and strengthening intercity collaboration. Key outcomes of this research include: + Tackling Local Challenges with Broader Vision: Addressing immediate urban issues such as socio-economic transformations, while paving the way for regional collaboration on pressing concerns like climate change. + Fostering Intercity Collaboration: Establishing a robust legal and organizational framework that enables Hanseatic cities to share knowledge, resources, and strategies, creating a unified response to global challenges. + Promoting Cultural Resilience: Strengthening the unique maritime heritage and identity of these cities, ensuring their cultural significance is preserved for future generations. + Advancing Sustainable Tourism: Encouraging practices that balance economic benefits with the preservation ofcultural and environmental integrity. + Empowering Local Communities: Enhancing awareness and engagement among residents to foster pride in their cultural landscape and active participation in its future development. For those interested, a snippet of my thesis is below, and the full book is accessible on ResearchGate through the link below: https://lnkd.in/eGxCYxSj My journey at Politecnico di Milano was instrumental in shaping this work. Engaging with a vibrant international community enriched my understanding of urban development, heritage, history, and sustainability. Collaborating with peers from diverse backgrounds refined my research skills and broadened my perspective, equipping me to tackle complex, interdisciplinary challenges. I am excited to apply the insights gained from this experience to impactful and innovative projects moving forward.
