In the immortal words of Bon Jovi - “Woah, we’re halfway there…” Halfway through my secondment with Poppyscotland and what a four months it has been. Over those months, there have been many, many, many day… I’ve distilled them into one of the five different types. 1️⃣ a school day: with new areas of IG to learn about (enjoying raffles and regular giving), and reshaping my love of legacies. New techniques for DM, and different ways of working. 2️⃣ a planning day: planning my time to ensure that I can fit it all that is important, and moving aside the bits which I have absolutely ability to change or impact. 3️⃣ a reflection day: talking with those in my network about what I’ve learned, what’s gone well, what hasn’t, and what would I do differently next time… 4️⃣ a prioritising day: understanding that my priorities, really aren’t everyone else’s priorities, and that their priorities really aren’t mine too. With a little caring and sharing still gets the job done! 5️⃣ a “not today Satan” day. Enough said. I’m looking forward to a few more types of days, as I move into months 5, 6, 7 and 8 - there’s a another song on there somewhere….

The Women In Product Conference has just begun, and the opening session was incredibly inspiring! Joanne Jang from OpenAI shared some fascinating insights into the development journey of ChatGPT. One standout moment was how ChatGPT's responses have evolved over time, like when it was asked, "What’s your favorite food?", she mentioned biryani which is my absolute favorite. Joanne shared some key learnings from her career: 🔹 Serendipity and Timing: “Every cool thing I’ve done is because I was at the right place at the right time.” This emphasizes seizing opportunities and staying open to new experiences. 🔹 Attention to Detail: “Don't be afraid to get into the details.” Diving deep and understanding intricacies can drive innovation. Her session was a powerful reminder to embrace authenticity and courageously navigate our journeys, embracing uncertainties and challenges. #WomenInProduct #24WIP #OpenAI #CareerInsights #ProductManagement #Inspiration
Loved kicking off this morning at 24WIP with Joanne Jang! "Use first principles, talk to experts, ship something, gather feedback."

Time flies when you’re passionate about what you do! It’s hard to believe it’s been 8 years since I embarked on this incredible journey with Cue. 🚀 Some additions to slide 4: In the ever-evolving landscape of operations, the true trailblazers aren’t merely followers of established wisdom. They’re the ones who dig deeper, question assumptions, and fearlessly challenge the status quo. 🌟 For example, Michael E. Porter, His recent work sometimes challenges his own initial theories. Innovation thrives on questioning the familiar. 🤔 Shuji Nakamura, With 500+ publications and 300 patents, he exemplifies the spirit of continuous exploration. 📈💡 Jeff Bezos, Back in 1994, he dared to sell books online when the world was skeptical. Now, look at Amazon! 📚🌐 The key is to embrace Continuous Learning, stay curious! Invest time in understanding systems, processes, and trends. Be up-to-date, but don’t stop there—apply that knowledge to real-world scenarios. Recognize that change is inevitable. Be willing to unlearn and relearn when better information emerges, and like a scientist in the lab, always test your hypotheses. What works? What needs adjustment? If you’re still citing papers from 5 years ago, you’re just chasing a grade. Seek knowledge and site recent studies!
Today we'd like to introduce you to Shingai Sharlton Gunha, our Head of Technical Operations. Shings has been with the crew for over 8 years and was our very first hire. We mean it when we say we would not be where we are today without this guy. Learn how he earned his nickname as 'rider of the night', the ins and out of technical operations at Cue, how being a father has impacted his work (for the good), and more 👇 https://lnkd.in/dJMhJGUS

Student of Leadership and on a Journey, Founder of The Maximum Standard, Soldier, Proud Father and Husband
"Has anyone seen the Delaware?" This Independence Day, I was at my parents' house on the Delaware River. Every year the neighbors put on a small parade using their personal cars with July 4th streamers or an ATV or tractor. We then proceed to drive around the neighborhood slowly and wave at a small group of spectators. This year, we shook things up. Mounting a canoe to a boat trailer, the kids and I reenacted George Washington's crossing of the Delaware a mere 200 feet from the river (although miles North of the actual crossing). Not all that hard to create, and it was a certainly a crowd favorite. Here's my big takeaway. With a little creativity and effort, any one of us can turn a normalized event into something more special and memorable. For example, and learning this from a past boss, I occasionally bring root beer floats into a morning meeting to hand out. Not a ton of effort--certainly talked about afterwards. The best leaders I know do three things: 1. Get the job done (a prerequisite to the other two) 2. Make it fun 3. Create memories Sometimes it only takes a little extra effort to make something extraordinary!

You would not call me a true Marvel fan if I did not draw compelling parallels between superheroes and the average day-to-day. So I present to you the first of many, in my new blog series the Marvel Corporate Universe. (Still MCU, still cool) While I have been watching re-runs of the Loki season finale since it aired in 2023, I wrote this blog as a part of my self-discovery in an ever-changing world, trying to find my standing in the corporate realm. I believe that our careers are in fact, instrumental in shaping our identities to a large extent. So where do I stand? I would ask this to myself each year. A single word or phrase just wouldn’t come to aptly describe it. How would you rather describe a professional with a mixed bag of transferable skills? A Jill of all trades? A human power adapter? A shapeshifting worker? A workplace trickster? If this kind of existential question resonates with you in the second work week of 2024, read my blog on Medium to find out how I discovered my true glorious purpose. Cheers Asgard!

In our journey of growth, the company we keep plays a pivotal role. Just this week, I encountered a challenging task, feeling unprepared.
