One of the many challenges of running an established but growing business is how you market yourself to your candidates. While we are a great place to work for many talented people, we are also certainly not for everyone. It’s easy to downplay the tough, heavy lifting that needs to be done and hype up the benefits you offer in hopes of attracting great people to join your team. The truth is, when we’ve hired someone for a particular role that performs really well in a structured environment with lots of established process and we haven’t been super clear that the role needs someone to create and repair processes, it leaves everyone frustrated. We have learned that by being truly honest about the deliverables and the true challenges of the role, it attracts the right people. Some of us like to build things. Some of us like to fix things. Some of us like to keep things working and looking sharp. So if you want to work security at big outdoor concerts this summer, it’s a LOT of fun, but you also might get accidentally get kicked in the face by a crowd surfer (sound fun? call us!) ✌️
