Key learnings when ranking + 20,000 accounts against Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) attributes using AI/ML. In one of our biggest Bunes & Ferenczi client engagements, Zsuzsanna Ferenczi worked tirelessly to deliver a curated, tight account universe. The context was to create an ICP for ONE complex B2B Tech solution, not for the entire portfolio. For net new logo acquisition business development team. Serving a large European country. Here are the four key takeaways after creating a model with about 90% accuracy: 1️⃣ In this case, ONLY seven (7) percent of the predictive power comes from firmographics e.g. company data. Yes, you read this right. 7%! 2️⃣ Quality of firmographic data varies tremendously country-by-country and across company sizes. 3️⃣ Don't use ALL historical transactions for model look-a-like against. Someone you sold to three years ago might not be ICP today. 4️⃣ Change is hard. Bold leadership to say "we can do better" is required.
