Entering Recruitment has to have been one of the most interesting things I've ever chosen to take on. 2 years in and my perspective on People and Australia hasn't changed necessarily but it's got more depth in the thought certainly. I've learnt that candidates are not complex people, hire efficiently, interview effectively, keep your lines of communication clear, everyone from CEO to Labourer prefers honesty over sugar coating or ghosting, the messenger might get shot Driving through Sydney seeing all these major builds from Tunnels to Airports and having hired for a few of the projects, you understand how many people that took to complete just in the paperwork alone not even considering the 50 to possibly 200 people it took to complete on the ground level. so i pass the buck to other recruiters in my network, blue or white collar, what's been some of the biggest perspective shifts you've found since entering the industry? #bluecollar #projects #recruitment Talent Focus Recruitment

What does a good recruitment process look like? Regardless of the type of job, level of seniority or sector, there are certain elements that must be done, and must be done well. Of course there are big differences in delivery for, say, a mid-level quick turnaround contractor to a strategic interim responsible for implementing a new project. Most firms get their hiring processes all wrong. I saw a post today and it caught my eyes. It went something like the reason why hiring is inefficient: Is the distrust between the below people ⬇ Hiring Managers Talent Acquisition Recruitment Agencies HR In some cases this might be very true. But it doesn't have to be this way. Good communication between all parties is crucial when improving hiring processes and reducing time to hire. Especially in the mission-critical industry when not getting the right people could push a project off course. We should all aim to work together to deliver a superb hiring experience for construction talent joining the project which will inturn make the company brand more attractive and make it more viable that you get the right skillsets fast. They really took on board our advice and the benefits of nailing your PSL down to 1 or 2 recruitment partners: ♦️ Streamline Communication - 1/2 20 min job reg with the hiring manager, teams or face to face to nail down the role rather than 10, so we go to market with the exact info and sell the opportunity and your business to the best quality ♦️ Quality over Quantity- 5/6 cv’s rather than 30 with 80% not of standard, no overlaps or dealing with complaints of candidate ownership ♦️ Confidential and Control- not all roles are plain sailing or live to all, so using fewer numbers keeps the process more sensitive At Artemis Human Capital we see ourselves as an extra extension to your business and pride ourselves on long standing relationships, rather than seeing the recruitment process as a transaction.
