At Generation Resonance, we are dedicated to amplifying youth voices and fostering sustainable growth across the globe. In alignment with our mission, we were inspired by the recent video message delivered by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the Global Gateway High-Level Youth Event. Her speech emphasized a profound commitment to the empowerment of young people and sustainable development, a vision we deeply share and champion. 1- Youth at the Heart of Global Development President von der Leyen’s speech brought to light the harsh realities that millions of young people face globally—lack of infrastructure, education, and employment opportunities. She posed thought-provoking questions: “How do you reach school if there are no roads or public transport? How do you study without electricity? How do you build a future when there are no jobs?” These challenges underscore the urgent need for targeted investment in youth capacity-building and the creation of opportunities that bridge these gaps. For us at Generation Resonance, these questions resonate deeply. We believe in the untapped potential of young people around the world, particularly those from marginalized communities, who, with the right support, can become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow. At Generation Resonance, we view this strategy as a powerful demonstration of Europe’s commitment to youth empowerment. We advocate for more partnerships that invest in education and skills development, particularly in digital and green technologies, to equip the next generation with the tools to lead in a sustainable, connected world. 2- Building Resilient, Sustainable Economies The Global Gateway’s emphasis on renewable energy, industrial development, and fair trade reflects a shared value between the EU and Generation Resonance: the importance of fostering local talent and creating jobs that remain within partner countries. From Indonesia’s solar and wind industries to Chile’s burgeoning green hydrogen sector, the Global Gateway is promoting industries that not only protect the environment but also ensure local communities benefit economically. A key aspect of President von der Leyen’s message was the active involvement of young people in shaping EU policy. Through the creation of Youth Sounding Boards, hundreds of young people across the globe are now advising European institutions. This initiative is a model that resonates strongly with our work at Generation Resonance, where we continuously strive to ensure that youth voices are heard in policymaking processes at all levels. Generation Resonance invites global stakeholders, NGOs, governments, and youth advocates to join us in supporting these critical initiatives. Together, we can ensure that every young person—no matter where they are in the world—has access to the tools and opportunities they need to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

International Youth Day 2024 Theme: From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development Digitalization is revolutionizing our world and creating opportunities for sustainable development. Technologies like mobile devices, services, and artificial intelligence are crucial in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Data from digital interactions supports evidence-based decision-making and contributes to at least 70% of the SDG targets. Young people, especially those aged 15 to 24, are leading digital adoption and innovation, although disparities persist. It's crucial to enhance digital inclusion as we approach the 2030 deadline for the SDGs. Celebrating the digital contributions of young people can inspire more innovation and collaboration for sustainable development.

🌱 Empowering the #NextGeneration: #MOVING2020 has actively engaged over 1300 young people from the 23 mountain regions through workshops, field trips, and discussions. Our aim was to understand their views and explore their potential roles in shaping the sustainable future of these areas and #valuechains. Major insights: 🔸 Young people value their regions but are concerned about challenges like #ClimateChange and lack of investment. 🔸 Strong calls for improved infrastructure, and enhanced education and training opportunities. 🔸 Greater involvement of young people in policy-making is essential. 🎉 This is one of the most excited times of the year! 🇺🇳 United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum will be happening on April 16-18, 2024. 🌱 As a Young Ecopreneur, I was one of the speakers at the last year's forum: ⭐ "The human being is all about being human. We have only one world and in order to live in harmony with the earth, we need to bring hearts to our selfless efforts for #GlobalGoals.
