MIAMI IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE AND WORK! Austin, LA, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Denver, Miami, San Diego, London, Saudi Arabia, Paris, Chicago, Abu Dhabi, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Provo, Milwaulkee, UAE, Singapore, Coronado, Vegas, Bahamas, St. Barths, St. Kitts, St. Louis, Mexico, Toronto, Vancouver, UK, India, and more. What is this list? The above is an incomplete list of locations that #companies I have been employed by, or #brands and #agencies I have worked with are based, headquartered, created #content in or for, have hosted events in, or otherwise been attached to. Some on that list are places former team members I have onboarded and trained were located. I have had the pleasure of visiting some of these places for various meetings, events, etc. Others I ran projects for from a distance and have yet to step foot in. What does this matter? Well- I want companies to understand, that when I say I have worked #globally, I mean it. Whether the company itself was global and I was creating campaigns sending creators worldwide, or the company/brand was based around the world from me. I've done it. So when thinking of #hiring someone you need to be good with different timezones, adaptable to different ways of working, rules, regulations, and #travel, I should be on your radar and we should be talking. I'll even come fly with you.

Well done to the team behind the new Partnership for Miami report which benchmarks Miami against peer cities and takes an honest and practical view of the current issues - including being the most unaffordable place to live in the US - and opportunities. See: https://lnkd.in/gT7cRDPn Many cities and regions in Australia are facing similar issues and it is good to see the report prioritising 'Affordability and Livability' as a key theme in Miami's strategic direction. Here on Australia's Sunshine Coast, we are already seeing businesses - from hospitality to the next big thing in tech - having issues attracting and retaining talented staff who can afford to live here with house prices increasing by 72% in just 4 years.

The single most important lesson to learn before expanding internationally – what worked at home is not going to work abroad. At least, not without some tweaks. Attitudes and values differ between cultures – but we all share something in common. We all appreciate feeling listened to and understood. Having outside approaches imposed upon you usually breeds resentment and pushback. I’m not saying you have to go back to square one with every new market you break into. But maybe rewind to square 3 or 4.

About a year and a half ago, I made the decision to move from Boston to Dublin with Vanta to help open our EMEA office and expand our international business. As my journey comes to an end and I prepare to board a one-way flight back to Boston tomorrow, I wanted to reflect on my journey/share some insights. I'm immensely grateful for the support from Vanta + the opportunities my career has provided, taking me from a direct seller to a team lead and eventually a manager in Dublin. The decision to move to a new continent and contribute to the growth of the Vanta EMEA team was thrilling, challenging, and a bit nerve racking at times 😅 It wasn’t just about selling the leading Trust Management solution; it was about building and nurturing a team, fostering a culture of excellence, and adapting to a new global landscape. International Adaptability: Living and working internationally emphasized the importance of adaptability. Understanding and respecting cultural differences and nuances within regions became crucial in fostering a cohesive and high-performing team. Highlighting the importance of challenging assumptions and the willingness to adjust quickly. Building Bridges, Not Just Networks: Opening the Dublin office was about more than just physical expansion; it was about creating meaningful connections with and learning from our customers to truly shape the global vision and offerings we had available. Global Perspectives, Local Impact: Working in region revealed diverse global challenges and opportunities. Tailoring our approach to local needs while maintaining a global vision was essential for sustainable success. Nuances I wouldn’t have thought of previously (internal company wide meetings at 7pm GMT 😉 ), when realized and corrected made a huge impact on culture and success internally and externally. Growth Through Leadership: The transition from a direct seller to a manager highlighted the significance of leadership. It's not just about achieving targets and pushing KPIs (sorry ops); it's about empowering individuals, fostering growth, and guiding the team toward a shared vision. Gratitude for the Journey: I'm immensely grateful for the incredible team that made it all possible. I truly appreciate the whole EMEA office, however I'll keep the list short(ish): firstly Eric Martin for planting the seed in my head to live internationally, Christina Cacioppo for creating a company that truly cares about the development of it's employees, Paulo Rodriguez, Andrew Peter Foley, Michael O'Mahony, Harriet Niland, Jeff Tardiff for the guidance while in Dublin and lastly Shaun Crimmins for the continuous career advice and support. What's Next: As I continue to learn and grow, my journey isn't over. Returning to Boston with Vanta, I'll be managing part of the Velocity Sales Team aiming to make an impact with the lessons learned from my time in Dublin. Here's to embracing change, fostering growth, and continuously reaching for new horizons! 🚀

CEO Europe & Partner QUO | Global CMO, CCO & Non-Exec | Ex-IHG, Hilton, Virgin, BA, Fitness First, ODEON Cinemas Group
I’m delighted to share news that QUO - an award-winning Asia-based strategic branding agency - has today announced launching operations into Europe with a new regional headquarters in central London, and that I’m joining the team as CEO Europe and partner in the group. I’ve held nothing but respect for David Keen and the team since I was a client back in my time in Singapore with IHG Hotels & Resorts. They have a hard-to-find blend of smart, strategic thought-leadership, elegant creativity, and deep humility in serving their growing client-base. David has forged a compassionate business that cares profoundly about the future of hospitality, tourism, culture, healthcare and wellness. And while some agencies wear purpose like a badge, QUO’s admirable work in advocacy, partnering with government and non-government agencies on amplifying some of the most pressing issues facing humanity, demonstrates they really do walk the talk. I couldn’t be happier to join this group. As well as the CEO role for the new region, I’m also going to be the global Chief Growth Officer for the QUO group. Within this role, I’ll assume responsibility for QUO’s global sales and marketing efforts, ensuring the reputation and growth of the agency continues its upward trajectory, while seeking out partnerships to expand our reach and capabilities. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone is a tactic applied a few times in my career, and opening a new regional office for a fast-growing agency sees me at it again. I can’t wait. Lots more news to come soon. #hospitality #wellness #tourism #advocacy #culture #brandingagency #luxurytravel #brandingstrategy
