Giving versus receiving is a very interesting conversation. These are actually skills that we can develop. Are you a chronic giver who has difficulty receiving? Or do you tend to struggle giving because you feel like nobody seems to give back? Experts often consider the inability to receive a potential trauma response. During the attachment phase in our infancy and younger years, children learn that they have to remain silent annything, in order to avoid stressing out their caregivers. If a caregiver is dysregulated, children have a primal sense that they have to avoid being a burden. #givingvsreceiving #theartofreceiving #relationshipgoals #healthyrelationships #ptsd #lovegives #balancedrelationships #givingandreceiving #traumaresponse #relationshipgoal #childhoodtraumarecovery #traumaawareness #integrativesteps #healthcoach #healthandwellnesscoach #womanonfire #viralvideos #fypシ

Caregiver stigma is a real thing. When you become a caregiver, you find that people start distancing themselves from you. Both family and friends disappear from your life. This negative social stigma revolves around unfair beliefs people tell themselves. They then assign those beliefs to caregivers, causing these coworkers to feel rejected and unwanted. All stigmas are negative and not compassionate approaches. In the table are some actions that will begin updating unjust beliefs instead of inflicting them on caregiving coworkers. They help stop implying that caregiving coworkers need to hide or downplay a piece of their new identity. As you reflect on these, share other ways to help caregiving coworkers feel valued and that they belong in the comments below. ⬇️

Are you feeling burnt out as a family caregiver? Today's #WednesdayWisdom from Julie Daigle, MSDA, BGS, CDP, CMDCP is here to help: "Recognizing signs of compassion fatigue is vital for caregivers to maintain their well-being. Symptoms such as physical and emotional exhaustion, decreased empathy, and feelings of guilt or dread should not be ignored. If experiencing burnout, caregivers should prioritize self-care, take time off if possible, seek support from trusted individuals or groups, and consider professional counseling. Remember, caregiving is inherently challenging, and practicing kindness towards oneself is essential in navigating its demands." #independentliving #inhomecare #athomecare #eldercare #DesMoines
