📈 What is the market situation and developments regarding Healthcare in the United Kingdom? The ZGEBS team joined our network partner Bupa Business UK for a very informative session exploring key trends in the United Kingdom. Bupa’s market-leading proposition is clearly having an impact, evidenced with consistent increases in market share supported by innovative services including Menopause cover, delivering a 80+ NPS score. It was interesting to understand the drivers for Captive customers considering a move away from Healthcare Trusts to a traditional insured basis. Consistent with discussions with other partners, ESG and DEI are at the forefront of Bupa’s customers consideration set. Australia’s federal budget offers big benefits for healthcare in Australia. According to coverage from The Guardian, the new budget aims to fund new mental health service and urgent care clinics alongside alternative care for pensioners and older people. The healthcare industry benefits include: • More Medicare-funded urgent care clinics to reduce pressure on emergency departments. • A freeze on the price of medicines listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) to provide relief from rising healthcare costs. • Boost for aged care, mental health and disability services to improve aged care facilities, mental health services and support for people with disabilities. CEO of Private Healthcare Australia | Accomplished Healthcare and Business Strategist | Business Leader | Medical Expert | Health Policy Advocate | Corporate Affairs Specialist | Board Director
During this year’s #WEF24 the World Economic Forum released a report with eye-opening insight into the inequality in healthcare for women across the world. For years we have highlighted that there is a lack of data and research into women’s biology and health outcomes which has contributed to widening the health gap. It’s time for this to change. Having been medically trained, it has been disappointing seeing a continued lack of emphasis around research into women’s health. More recently we have seen increased evidence of this, such as around the lack of awareness for menopause and how this affects women, to the growing occurrence of sporting injuries like ACL ruptures in women (Sam Kerr as the most recent example). Closing the gap for women’s health adds years of life to half of the world’s population, and more support to an increasing percentage of our world’s professional workforce. Closing the gap poses a $1 trillion opportunity for global society, not to mention improving productivity across many critical industries. At Private Healthcare Australia, our research has indicated that as more women are entering and remaining in the workforce than ever before, they are spending more money on healthcare and wellness through opting for private health insurance. It’s our role in the medical industry to ensure that research continues when it comes to better understanding women’s health needs to improve care across our public and private system. Let me know what you found most interesting in the report? https://lnkd.in/eqjXrfGK #PrivateHealthcare #GenderGap #MedicalCare #WEF24 Gerardine (Ged) Kearney

EU project developer DG Health +12 #EuHealthUnion priorities Biochemical Eng - Neurosciences - representing ESPA, the 1400 Medical Revalidation Spas in Europe - living in the Brussels Capital Region
#LongCovidPatients previsions for 2024: * U18 & +65: 3% with Covid23; * +35 to U65: 6% with Covid23 = including 6% of senior management in your companies, out of business and social family life for 1-2-3-4-... years. 10% of them will get clusters of the +200 LongCovidSyndrome symptoms, half of them = 5% of all those we can treat significantly, so see you in one of our European Spas Association (ESPA) . Congratulations for the German REHA (Ministry of Health & Medical Insurance) & Bulgaria the minister of Health & Tourism for concluding a contract so that German patients can also come to Bulgarian Medical Revalidation Spas as the German Medical Revalidation Spas are completely overbooked. More: https://lnkd.in/eXPcQxW8 and then click on Germany and you will immeditately see the price list for the LongCovidTreatments. PS (10% of the national population out by #LongCovidSyndrome was with full Covid19 vaccination & masking, now in 2024 there is no masking and only a fraction of the population bothered to take an updated vaccine, so we think the numbers will be higher, but I prefer to be conservative. I estimate 10% of the eu population has longcovidsymptoms - a cough, stomach pain, out of control menstrual cycle, brainfig, depression, anxiety disorder,... for more than 24 months, half of that 5% so bad they cannot function at work. Every year it seems 1% is added as the capacity for treatment is overwelmed, another the bottle neck is transferred of know how. I keep working on this at the eu level - the new DG SANTE #EuHealthUnion)

After more than a year of intense legislative negotiations, Chile’s Congress approved the Isapre Ley Corta. This approval brings much-needed clarity to the Isapre system, alleviating immediate concerns of bankruptcy in 2024. 👉 Despite this, financial losses are expected in 2024, and beneficiaries will continue leaving the system. 👉 Another question for 2025 is whether the government will be successful in its implementation of the Complementary Coverage Modality (MCC), which aims to stimulate the adoption of complementary health plans, providing a new avenue for Fonasa patients to access private services. 👉 FrontierView is skeptical of the government’s ability to implement this ambitious plan, and does not see the MCC being a successful modality beyond 2025.
