5 Reasons to Use Mini Whiteboards in the Classroom

Today mini-whiteboards are the most fashionable teaching aids in the education world. They have transformed the modern Classroom to a level where students can understand new concepts being taught.

The new technology has brought magnetic marker boards into the field of teaching. The panels are used together with whiteboard markers and erasers. Whiteboards have motivated learners to pursue their education with a passion since it’s no longer boring.

Whiteboards have improved the learning experiences in the Classroom and the productivity of students as well. Traditional whiteboards are viewed as teaching aids of the past which teachers are now ditching out.

For teachers who want to make their classrooms lively, here are some reasons they ought to have whiteboards with them.

1.    Getting Immediate Response from Students

Whiteboards are useful for getting feedback from students once a teacher poses a question. Instead of waiting until students write, teachers use the time to seek for best response. Are the students giving the correct answer? Which students are making common mistakes?

From all those responses, teachers can know the level of understanding of their students. Those who never got the answer collect can be taught in small groups. Teachers will also learn the strengths and weaknesses of their students. Therefore, they will work on the areas where students need to improve on.

Additionally, whiteboards ensure the full participation of all students during class time.

2.    Brainstorming

Many students fear getting the answer wrong; hence, they can't learn from their mistakes. Whiteboards are used for fast brainstorming activities. It is helpful for teaching when students want to note down solutions for a particular problem. Furthermore, whiteboards help learners get any idea that comes to their minds listed down and formulates the problem's solution.

At this stage, teachers can give a quiz that requires multiple answers, and with the help of whiteboards, they win. They gain confidence in answering even the challenging tasks.

Teachers need to teach learners how to brainstorm if they are not aware of it!

3.    Develops Habits of Editing and Proofreading

Whiteboards aids in creating a culture of excellent editing and proofreading. It is achieved by making sure whatever is written first is of high quality. Then it proceeds to equip students with accountability once they write on whiteboards.

When learners know what they write will be held up for discussion, they can edit it quickly without fear of mess. However, students can do self-edit when reading out their answers. They can spot mistakes from other students' responses and correct their own.

4.    Plan for Interruptions

Sometimes lessons cannot end without unnecessary interruptions. The principal may call for an emergency meeting, and the teacher is required to leave the class. The study is disrupted, and students are left with nothing to do.

Whiteboards can rescue such a situation to keep learners busy while the teacher deals with the interruption. Some students are always ahead, and they may continue with the lesson where the teacher stopped.

5.    Easy to Erase Errors and Reusable

Think of a whole day writing with chalk on blackboards. It's hectic. Those traditional blackboards made teachers and students uncomfortable due to dust. After wiping the blackboards, dust and broken pieces of chalk would be everywhere, turning the Classroom messy.

Students can use dry-erase markers, which are less permanent on whiteboards. When a student makes a mistake, he/she can erase it quickly. Learning with whiteboards creates a conducive environment where students who want to make everything perfect, whiteboard are the right choices.

Unlike books, whiteboards can be used more than once since learners need an eraser to wipe. Whiteboards also contribute to a clean class and environment since no paper is littered.

Summary

Brainstorming, immediate feedback from students, and developing editing and proofreading habits are why mini-whiteboards should never lack in any classroom. Teachers are always looking for excellent teaching ideas every day.

The magnetic marker boards are still other teaching aid tools a teacher should never miss in class. It will make students grasp all the concepts being taught.

Teachers with students who are struggling to participate in class ought to invest in whiteboards.
