The United States economy added 303,000 new jobs in March, higher than the average monthly gain of 231,000 over the prior 12 months. Job gains were most notable in health care, government, construction, and leisure and hospitality. The unemployment rate changed little at 3.8%, and average hourly earnings rose by $0.12 to $34.69. Temporary help jobs decreased by 6.2% from the same month last year.
