Accountability

Accountability

We are almost halfway through January! Was there anything in particular you wanted to achieve? What steps are you taking in order to achieve it? Let’s recap on our topic for this month: How to make your New Year’s Resolution stick. Knowing your why and being specific definitely help. But finding a person that checks if you are really committed does help.

My next tip is one that you may find will get your through when achieving your goals, that is finding an accountability partner. This could be a friend, a significant other or somebody you trust. The idea is that this person will hold you up to your word of all the things you said you were going to do. They will check regularly how much progress you’ve made, just to make sure you are still on track.

If you find this is not the best option, you could also make a social media announcement of this goal you want to achieve. The social pressure and feeling that all eyes are on you will be key to make you follow through. The idea is to have a way that your commitment holds an important space in your life and recognizing you should take the necessary steps to fullfil it.
