From microchips to oil giants, cyberattacks are still on the rise. Plus, we're looking into the uncertain future of AI in the tech space.
💥We've got you covered with all you need to know and more in this, the sixty-eighth edition of #TechNewsTuesdays.
When OpenAI’s ChatGPT launched at the end of November 2022, it took the tech world by storm in a way few technologies had before.
Not only did it send Silicon Valley into a panic as tech companies big and small scrambled to embark on their own AI projects, but it also pushed generative AI into the mainstream so that everyone – in the tech space or not – had begun talking about AI.
American chipmaker Microchip Technology says a cyber attack has impacted its systems over the weekend, disrupting operations across several manufacturing facilities.
The incident, announced on Tuesday, left some Microchip Technology manufacturing facilities operating at reduced capacity, affecting the company's ability to meet orders.
US based oil giant Halliburton was hit by a cyber attack on Wednesday and is now facing computer system issues as a result.
Business operations have been impacted both in the company's main Houston campus and across its global network.
