Allegient Defense- Leading the Way

Shared Interest Groups: Allegient Defense Rolls Up Its Sleeves to Lend Expertise

We at Allegient Defense have long prided ourselves on enacting our core values of Initiative, Commitment, and Excellence in all facets of how we do business—from our on-site client support to our corporate culture of engagement. This standard of high performance has earned us distinction in the industry and among our clients, paving the way for us to be awarded premier contract opportunities. Significant among these was our award of the One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) in 2016, with our clearance to proceed granted in 2019. OASIS is a Tier 3, Best-in-Class (BIC) Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, offering the government access to a pre-qualified pool of BIC solution providers in the primary NAICS of 541330—expediting the procurement of complex professional services by maximizing streamlined acquisition processes. Being a part of the OASIS pool, Allegient Defense joins a distinguished group of small businesses with a demonstrated record of quality performance.

Allegient Defense’s Business Development team has been actively pursuing opportunities through OASIS, but that is just one element of our industry engagement. OASIS functions as a conduit between acquisition and industry, and it functions best when all players—procurement executives, government buyers, and industry members—engage in a robust exchange of ideas. So, when the call came out for business leaders to attend a virtual OASIS Shared Interest Group (SIG) Tiger Team on planning a Department of Transportation (DOT) Reverse Industry Day, Vice President Devang Patel gladly signed on. Leveraging his history leading a team at the DOT and the positive, driven manner we’ve all come to know so well, Mr. Patel made a great impression with the Federal General Services Administration (GSA) liaisons. He was subsequently tapped to serve as co-chair of the DOT Reverse Industry Day on March 9th—an event to promote the OASIS vehicle to the department as a strong contender for the rollout of projects under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), opening the door for around $1.4B of new work. Working with various members of the GSA and DOT team—including Ms. Camille Murray, the Business Strategies Team Lead for DOT’s Office of the Sr. Procurement Executive (OSPE)—Mr. Patel led, contributed, and coached the Industry Panelists’ presentation and moderated a Q&A session with small and large OASIS companies. The event was an industry success, with over 400 individuals from across the procurement community in attendance.

Participation in the Tiger Team is completely voluntary—there’s no monetary compensation for the time or effort involved in coordinating an industry event of this size. But, according to Mr. Patel, what Allegient Defense gains is recognition of its brand and of the quality of people who support it. Taking the INITIATIVE to connect, making a COMMITMENT to follow through, and producing EXCELLENCE in results demonstrates to potential clients and partners our values at work. Entering the market “selflessly”, as Mr. Patel puts it, creates the opportunity for Allegient Defense to be remembered as a small business unafraid to step up and stand out on the larger stage. Throughout the planning stages, Mr. Patel has interfaced with senior executives, contracting officers, and industry members from all levels, cultivating the connections that lead to new pipeline opportunities in new arenas and reinforcing the Allegient Defense brand as one that lasts.

Allegient Defense’s involvement in the Reverse Industry Day is an opportunity to grow our business—but it’s also evidence of our evolution. As the Business Development team expands to include Operations Manager Jen Baltazar and Corporate Recruiter Robert Hubauer, our leadership now has the bandwidth to pursue this high-level industry engagement and drive revenue-generating initiatives. We look forward to sharing the Allegient Defense culture of Initiative, Commitment, and Excellence with the ever-widening Science & Technology community.
