Appreciating my TD colleagues in Pacific Region

This week at TD, we celebrate the people who show up every day – safely in our branches, offices, or at home – to serve customers and communities across BC and Yukon: our amazing employees.

Of course, this is the second time we are celebrating our annual Employee Appreciation Week during the pandemic. We have certainly been through a lot together over the past 15 months! But as I reflect on this journey, I feel a huge amount of pride and gratitude for all that my colleagues have accomplished in the face of uncertainty: training themselves on new and adjusted processes to ensure physical distancing and sanitization; navigating through evolving health and safety guidelines and protocols; embracing technology to connect virtually with customers asking for support; and thoughtfully pivoting our regional corporate giving programs to help ensure charities and social service agencies stayed resilient.

What I am most heartened by are the countless stories I heard about how our colleagues – who themselves have been juggling increasing demands at home – checked on each other over the past year; listening, commiserating, but celebrating the bright spots, too. That compassion and care for peers have been critical for our mission, kept us moving forward at work and outside of work. I am extremely grateful for all that our employees here in Pacific Region have done to lift up their fellow teammates. As I said: our employees are amazing.
