Champions for our local health plan partners

Champions for our local health plan partners

Local health plans may expand into supporting the dual-eligible population for several reasons:

  1. Providing a D-SNP (Dual Special Needs Plans) is one way to get into Medicare or Medicaid.
  2. Some states like California and Wisconsin have also begun requiring D-SNPs to integrate care and cost responsibilities.
  3. Furthermore, as the 2030 CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) strategic deadlines for integrated care inches closer, health plans are looking to expand their current repertoire of offerings.

No matter the reason, switching gears to provide a D-SNP is no easy feat. These patients have complex clinical and social needs; supporting these members and complying with regulations while growing the overarching health plan can seem daunting.

However, partnership with a group like Belong Health allows health plans to retain their autonomy, brand, and expertise while expanding into these new areas. Belong believes a local perspective is essential to understanding beneficiaries and the tools and barriers to care. Presently providing D-SNPs and ACO REACH, Belong is uniquely positioned to bring current experience in providing for these complex beneficiaries and operating with local health plans. Belong knows how to leverage the strengths of local health plans into these new avenues. While a local health plan may not have perfected the execution of an integrated plan on their own, Belong brings infrastructure, experience, and championship to partnerships and allows local health plans to better serve their communities, because they know their members best.

Well said, this provides great insight and understanding to those that maybe looking to partner with Belong!
