REAMS REPORT

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are in the final countdown to the 7th Annual National Clean Energy Week (NCEW)!

In less than one week, we will celebrate clean energy innovation and learn from elected officials, business leaders, advocates, policymakers, investors, and trade associations from all perspectives who are dedicated to advancing clean energy at the 2023 Policymakers Symposium.

This year’s agenda is packed with experienced speakers and panelists, including a bipartisan list of congressional and administration speakers, including Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Senate Natural Resources Chairman Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Deputy Secretary David Turk, and more. And for the first time since 2019, the three-day event will offer one day of in-person programming.

The foundation of NCEW is bipartisanship. Collaboration from both sides of the aisle is necessary for executing policies that strengthen the economy and grow clean energy innovation and adoption in the long term. NCEW provides a space for these conversations that ultimately move us towards a cleaner future.

WHAT CRES IS DOING

CRES VP of Government Relations Shawn Affolter attended and spoke at the Solar Industries Association (SEIA) Conference.

Last week, CRES VP of Government Relations Shawn Affolter traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to attend and speak at the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) Conference. Shawn provided a conservative perspective on the state of politics in Washington. He highlighted that Republicans recognize the United States is one of the most carbon-efficient economies in the world, and when we produce, global emissions go down. The panel explored how the partisan passage of the Inflation Reduction Act has impacted the solar industry and the work CRES is doing to depoliticize tax credits, which historically enjoyed bipartisan support.
