Data Services Webinar now live

A recording of Smart Data Research UK's (SDR UK's) recent webinar on our major data services funding call is now available to view on our new YouTube channel.

With a total investment of up to £30 million, the data services grant call is focused on teams of experts in research institutes across the country. They will work to acquire, steward and enable safe access to smart data.

The data services will build long-term partnerships with data owners, demonstrate the potential of smart data through innovative research projects, and provide technical infrastructure, governance and user support to a broad community of researchers. They will also be helping to position the UK at the forefront of smart data research and innovation.

The data services webinar took place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Led by Bruce J. , Head of Workstreams and Operations at SDR UK, and featuring other team heads, the presentation provided information on Smart Data Research UK and key documents to read, as well as guidance on what we're looking for, how to apply and how we'll assess applications. There was also time for Q&A.

Elsewhere, SDR UK's Director, Joe Cuddeford, recently talked to the news team from *Research about the data services funding call. In the article, Joe discusses the key elements of a strong application and offers topline advice to applicants. You can read the interview here.
