SDR UK smart data survey

SDR UK smart data survey

Academics working with us at Smart Data Research UK (SDR UK) are calling on members of the research community to take part in a new survey focused on building a greater understanding of the smart data research landscape.

The teams from University of Liverpool and Newcastle University are gathering insights from people working in or interested in the area of smart data for research.

SDR UK’s definition of smart data refers to data generated through everyday interactions with digital devices, sensors and services, such as app and web data, retail and business data, financial, transport and infrastructure data, and data from remote imaging devices and wearables.

The survey will aim to map the needs, challenges and best practice currently experienced by those working with smart data. The results will also help to inform the next steps for SDR UK.

The researchers are interested in a range of views and experiences - you don't need expertise working with smart data to respond to take part! The questionnaire takes around 10-15 minutes to complete, and you can find all the details here: SDR UK Smart Data for Research – A Survey.

Some of the questions used in the survey are based on findings from a series of interviews with key stakeholders that took place during 2023, and this week, in a blog, SDR UK's senior manager for strategy and partnerships Rushil Ranchod reflected on some of the recurring themes and issues that emerged during that consultation process. You can read Rushil's blog here.
