Day in the life at Genflow with Becky Kidd, Apparel Product Developer

00: Wake up, grab a coffee and make my way to the gym.

00: On my way into the office, I make the most of my commute by catching up on emails and we-chat messages from our factories in China. Because of the time difference, it's good to catch them early before they finish for the day.

00: We have our Apparel weekly meeting at the start of every week with the whole apparel team, this is where we outline our action points and what we are working on this week. It’s also our opportunity to raise any issues or concerns and anything we need help with.

00: We get A LOT of parcels that arrive at the office every day, filled with samples, swatches, fabric books and trims which we need to open, review and feedback comments on to our suppliers. I’ll open up everything we receive in the morning and prepare for the week prioritising what we need to review and fit as a team.

00 - 13:00: Go through Asana/Slack and answer messages where needed. This is also where I review current projects and feed back on anything outstanding, if that's design comments on decks, reviewing measurement grading for bulk production, or catching up with the CBM team.

00: Lunchtime! Myself and a few other members of the team usually grab lunch together away from our desks, a great way to power through a productive afternoon.

00: We fit all development samples internally first, so I will review for fit with our Garment Tech, noting all the fit comments needed to improve the overall design and quality of the garment before we arrange to show/send these to our creators.

00: Reviewing and approving lab dips and bulk fabric swatches ensuring these are correct for what we requested and feeding back to our suppliers if any corrections are needed so we can get these re-sampled ASAP.

00: Catch up with the shipping team on any shipments in transit to our warehouse and any future shipments that are due to leave soon. We go through any outstanding tasks needed from either side to ensure smooth, timely shipments.

00 - 18:00: Finish up any outstanding emails and tasks for the day before heading home to relax and enjoy my evening.
