Doubling Down on Game Devs

The past month was one of our busiest yet, and things aren't slowing down soon. Between Pixel Pitch Episode 3, The OTK Games Expo, and the finale of OTK's Top Streamer Chapter 1, we have all the content our fans could want between the normal streams.

Without delay, let's hop right into everything going on at OTK.

The OTK Games Expo's third year was our best show yet, with four hours of indie games, wacky skits, and developer interviews. Over 40 games were showcased last week, with some developers from around the world coming to WePlay Studios to see the event in person. Most gaming shows focus primarily on trailers or pre-recorded gameplay segments, but if there is one thing we know best at OTK, it's live content. This year, we added more live developer interviews and live gameplay segments than ever before to keep the audience engaged and to give fans a taste of the games.

This year we also launched the OTK Games Expo YouTube Channel where we posted the first four Developer Diary media pieces along with all the trailers, interviews, and gameplay. We are dedicated to making the OTK Games Expo a yearly staple in the industry, giving light to indie developers and their games that might have been swept under the radar during the summer blitz of gaming news and announcements.

Our title sponsor for the 2024 OTK Games Expo was Cash App , and with them, we were able to jump-start our Developer for Hire activation, promoting people in the gaming space who are looking for work and giving them a little cash to get through the hard times. Jane Hoffacker and OTK CEO Tips Out joined the panel of gaming sharks in this episode of Pixel Pitch sponsored by Ally to give away $15,000 to developers. This episode brought five varied titles ranging from a retro fighter to an existential platformer where you get one life to beat the game.

Episode 3 Games

Waxheart is an atmospheric horror puzzle adventure game where you play as a wax boy with a lantern for a heart.

Peppered is an existential story-based platformer where you only get one shot. That’s right, one stray bullet hits you? You’re dead.

Fighting games are in, and we got Shot One Fighters, a retro throwback fighting game with heavy arcade vibes and a ton of personality.

Heretical is a top-down Action RPG with rogue-like aspects. If you like Hades, Diablo, or Vampire Survivor, make sure to wishlist it on Steam.

Last but certainly not least was First Dwarf, an immersive action RPG where you traverse a fantastical land as a Dwarf and their mech, building bases and exploring.

OTK's Top Streamer Chapter 1 powered by Progressive is over, and from the original 50 starting competitors, we have our two final contestants who will be moving on to the Grand Finale of Chapter 4. Chapter 1's Finale featured Team OTK vs. Team Top Streamer facing off in go-kart racing, mini golf, and one last interview. Top Streamer was a chance for us to scout out some of the best-undiscovered talent on Twitch and give them a shot to show our audience what they've got. Shows like this allow OTK to experiment and find untapped potential in the content space.

OTK x Team Liquid Creator Cup - Street Fighter 6

In just a few days we will be teaming up with none other than Team Liquid and Capcom to host a Street Fighter 6 tournament! The Creator Cup will feature 9 competitors from both organizations facing off to determine who is the best.
