was celebrated on May 9, 2019 in the 3D Factory Incubator, an incubator of companies that promote the use of 3D printing technologies in small and medium enterprises. It is a project with European funding led by “Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona” and “Fundación Leitat”.

The participants were:

Pablo Valderrama, Business Development Manager of 3D Factory Incubator.

Antonio Dueñas, Business Partner of Surf Engineering, Engineering Services company focused on Industrial Design, Training and R & D, explaining how the process of creating a product starts from the idea, doing a previous market study and see if that idea already exists , how Industry 4.0 is changing the way that companies collaborate and examples where products are copied and, therefore, see the need to protect that knowledge from a legal and technical point of view.

Pedro Méndez de Vigo, Lawyer of Cuatrecasas an important international law firm, has a specialized area of Intellectual and Industrial Property, Media and Data Protection. They explained the new Law on Business Secrets and the Confidentiality Clauses as mechanisms to protect Intellectual and Industrial Property.

Carlos Cosials, Industry 4.0 Senior Business Consultant of Integral PLM Experts, (PTC Software distributor), explained how the way of designing products through software is changing, adding more information and data to 2D and 3D CAD models such as sales management, e-commerce, spare parts management, quality management, technical documentation/manuals, all protected with a role and profile management to know who accesses what information and thus have a traceability of information that can be useful in case of review of compliance used by lawyers or to detect information leaks.

And Antoni Paz, Executive Director of KIMbcn Foundation, which helps companies to develop the knowledge economy, technology transfer and open innovation. He talked about how to value economically the knowledge that is an intangible asset such as a patent, how much a “Sociedad (type of company)” is worth, ... Also how to define an Industrial Property strategy.

Attended companies such as Volkswagen Group Services and Seat from the areas of Patents and Innovation; Robert Bosch Spain, leader company in Industry 4.0 and that generates a lot of knowledge and has many patents; Payper, company that designs and manufactures bagging solutions, with strong R & D implementing the latest technology; Grupo Casmarpal, company dedicated to the manufacture of machines and parts for mechanization, helping customers on the design and materials most suitable for their needs; Drukatt, a company that uses new 3D printing technologies to manufacture or repair parts, also using traditional post-processing. They are called "mechanical hackers"; Leitat, Technology Center specialized in materials, devices and technologies of industrial production and Plain Concepts, important partner of Microsoft that designs and develops very innovative digital products
