Fitness & Briskets

Any barbecue expert will tell you the brisket is the most difficult piece of meat to cook. It takes eight to ten hours to slow cook a brisket to perfection.

If you want to speed up that process, you could always try to stick it in the microwave, but you’d be left with a rubbery piece of meat, and if you are from Texas like me, no one will ever eat at your home again.

What does this have to do with fitness? Just like that brisket, it takes a long time to get it right. It takes time for the body to adapt to change. But if the process is stable and slowly builds over time, you’ll have long-lasting results.

If you try to microwave weight loss, you’ll rebound and regain that weight quickly.

If you try to microwave strength, you’ll injure yourself.

If you microwave endurance, you’ll get burned out and sick.

If you take a smart, long-term approach to your fitness and slow cook it like brisket, you’ll be much safer and much more pleased with the results.

 Everyone needs a Coach

The first time I cooked a brisket, I did what any self-respecting Texan would do…I watched YouTube videos from the brisket master himself, Aaron Franklin. Aaron guided me step-by-step through the process and made it simple so a beginner like me could succeed.
