Topic of the week:

This month, our focus is on #SkilledWorkforce, highlighting the pressing matter of the #Skillsgap this week.

New research reveals a crucial trend: by 2027, 60% of #workers will require #training, yet only half have sufficient access to #opportunities.

The survey underscores the importance of analytical thinking as the top priority for skills training from 2023 to 2027, constituting 10% of all training initiatives. Following closely, creative thinking emerges as the second priority for workforce development, with 8% of upskilling efforts dedicated to fostering innovation. AI and big data utilisation emerge as the third key focus for skills training in the next five years, with 42% of companies prioritising this area.

➡ Many companies expect a swift #returnoninvestment within a year of starting #skillstraining, leading to benefits like enhanced job flexibility, increased employee satisfaction, and boosted productivity.

To meet the evolving demands of the workforce and unlock the full potential of individuals and organisations, addressing these priorities and ensuring broad access to comprehensive training programs are essential steps forward.

Additionally, following our recent poll all respondents agreed that AI training should be part of Learning & Development courses. But a new survey shows that while employees want AI training, there aren't enough chances for them to learn.

Nearly half of respondents (48%) believe that mastering AI skills will enhance their career prospects, according to a UK survey.

➡ The research reveals that AI proficiency ranks fourth in importance (19%), trailing behind coaching and mentoring (20%), wellbeing and mindfulness (23%), and leadership skills (25%).In the UK, 37% of individuals have utilised AI at their workplace, while 31% express concerns about AI potentially displacing their jobs. Notably, 56% of employed individuals aged 16 to 24 report using AI in their work.
