FT Business of Luxury Summit | Lisbon | 14-16 May 2017

The Financial Times' flagship luxury business Summit, co-chaired by the FT’s editor, Lionel Barber and fashion editor, Jo Ellison, the programme will bring together leading industry executives, creatives and financiers and look at where the luxury revolution is going and how to reposition your brand.

This year, the FT will return to Europe, at a time of extraordinary political, economic and social change. The 2017 Summit will take place in Lisbon, one of Europe’s most dynamic and evolving cities, where we will be discussing craftsmanship, manufacture and the markets of the future. How are manufacturing skills being protected and nurtured by the big brands? What initiatives are they taking to train new generations of artisans? How do you run a global business and retain an authentic heritage? Does luxury require new narratives or creative leadership

We will also be discussing many of the political and economic disruptions currently changing the industry and their impact on trade. How are brands like Louis Vuitton, Cartier and Hermès adapting to the shifting economies? We will discuss disruption with Vetements’ Guram Gvasalia and Miroslava Duma and the chef Nuno Mendes will join us to debate the explosion in experiential luxury. What should brands be investing in now? And what’s becoming obsolete?
