Generate More Online Leads for Your Health & Fitness Club
What your gym’s website needs to capture prospect information.
Lead-generation is a tough gig, especially for health clubs. Only 15% of Americans currently belong to a gym, leaving a whopping 85% of the American population available for membership.
Many clubs wait for inspiration to strike their prospects, only making contact with them once the prospect has set foot in their club. Many other clubs use direct marketing (postcards, door hangers, etc.) to contact local prospects.
But what about online leads? Your website should be your 24/7 salesperson working to build a prospect database for your membership advisors.
Here are a few ways to increase lead-generation on your gym’s website:
-
Free Guest Pass on Your Homepage
Don’t bury this! Put a clear call-to-action on your homepage driving visitors to click and sign up for a free 3- or 7-day guest pass to your club. It should be clear and inviting, and should only require the prospect to enter a few pieces of information (name, email, phone number) to receive it.
-
Quizzes
Everyone loves taking personality or match quizzes. Develop a simple quiz that visitors can take to learn more about their fitness goals; but make sure they must enter their information to receive the results. Here are some ideas for questions: What type of yoga style are you? What group exercise class should I take? Which personal trainer is best for me?
-
Online Registration for Events
Hosting a 5K, fundraiser, or special event? Offer online registration to members and non-members. It’ll boost your registration, and capture important information from local residents that may otherwise not be looking for fitness services.
-
Calls to Action on Every Blog
If you write a blog and do not include “the next step,” you’re missing out on valuable actions from both members and non-members. Every blog you post should be written with a reader and goal in mind. When the reader is finished, what action do you want them to take next? Whatever that is, link to it at the end of your post.
-
New Content
Publishing new content on your website is great for SEO and for attracting new people to your site. Whether you’re blogging, posting videos, photo galleries, upcoming workshops, or new class schedules… keep doing it! After publishing your content, don’t forget to share it on social media too.
Of course, don’t forget to have a general contact form, a membership inquiry form, and other program-specific forms on your website. Make it as easy as possible for visitors to find you and contact you from the comfort of their own home, where they may feel less intimidated and more willing to share information.
