How Generative AI affects us?

What is Generative AI?

Generative AI, such as Open Ai’s ChatGPT and GPT-3, is expected to have a significant impact on society and the way people interact with computers.

These systems have the ability to understand human intent and produce content, such as text and images, that can appear as if it was created by a human.

Impact of AI?

This has the potential to automate many jobs and change the nature of work.

Microsoft has made a large investment in Open AI, indicating the central role generative AI will play in the future.

The technology has the potential to make workers more productive and creative, but its full impact on society is yet to be seen.

Concerns:

However, there are also concerns about the potential for the technology to be used to generate misinformation.

AI language models like ChatGPT face reliability problems as they are not capable of real understanding and can only produce answers based on probabilistic assumptions from data they were trained on. They have no memory outside a single conversation and can produce nonsensical answers. There have been instances of AI systems producing untrustworthy results.

Solutions:

To address this, some AI systems are being subjected to a sense check before release, but relying on humans to validate AI output can also lead to problems. AI language models can still be used for practical purposes but there is a need for caution in their use. Consumers will learn to use these tools effectively but there are concerns about their potential misuse.
